Leon, because it will make that stone dazzle.

Both look lovely. I prefer the Leon myself.

If I take my vote out, it''s 120 JM to 124 LM. Argh, that''s a dead heat!

JM!

JM!
Ha Harriet, don''t let Leon catch you saying that!!

Shh. I just think the other setting suits the stone better. But, let's see what Leon comes up with.

I climbed off the fence and added a vote to the LM camp, after days of looking at both I think I like the LM better for the stone

Another for the James Meyer!

But, then - I''m a huge sucker for bezeled solitaires, and I''m head over heels for Coati''s ring!!!!

They are clearly both beautiful rings! But I think I''d prefer the James Meyer because I think a stone like that doesn''t need to much other bling going on around it. I like the simplicity and "leafyness" of the JM. The more I look though, I dunno... they''re both great!

I voted for the Leon, because it seemed to me that a special stone like this deserved a fabulous setting. HOWEVER, I''ve now changed my mind. I feel as though the Leon is "too much" and would perhaps detract from that lovely stone. I really love the simplicity of the JM setting. In fact, I''m hoping to buy some sort of a sapphire in 2009 and may consider this setting for myself! I don''t think you could go wrong with either setting though. They''re both beautiful in their own way.

Hi, both settings would look great. I voted for JM but it really depends on the look your after. I really like James Meyer''s stuff and own a ring by him that I love. But obviously LM does seriously beautiful jewelry too. I don''t own any LM but have seen a few rings in person at PS gatherings. Both men have a real eye for detail.

What have you decided?

Oh yeah, that style posted in a link above ( several posts ago) is what I''d like if I get another JM ring made in the future

Oops, sorry, I realized I didn''t answer this until I saw Skippy''s post bring this to the top...

I decided to let Leon have a look at the stone. We''ll go from there. I''ll have more updates in mid February as Richard will have the stone until then.

Thanks again all!

I love the Meyer banded shanks. I would go with a banded plain shank. NO milgrain, and either side stones (half moons) for a three stone, or a delicate halo.

Here''s what I mean byu shank bands:

Argh, pic didn''t show up.

Here's a halo I like with a colored stone, in terms of proportions (would prefer a different shank treatment), personally.

So, I guess what I am seeing is the same shank as the leon (split shank, with the banding right at the split), no pave or millgrain, but with the banding. And a very VERY delicate halo that the stone sits on, like a thone. IF you wanted a halo.

Personally, IF the stone were mine, I'd do something very similar to Parrot Tulip's setting (halfmoons and baguettes) I've always that setting would be amazing with a colored cushion. But, I don't think that's the look you want.

Kinda what I mean about the shank (only imagining that banding at the split). The V would be a little smaller in my mind (not QUITE so wide a split).

Gypsy, you''re pretty well hitting the nail on the head for me as to why I picked that LM.

The halo is up for debate for me right now, but I would want the split shank, very delicate, no milligraining and something right at the split. I also like the LM I choose because of the the "swirl" (don''t know what the name for it is) with the diamond. I would consider keeping those diamonds if it could be done to get Amelia''s birthstone in.

Thanks for your help!

Yup, it couldn''t be too wide a split...the stone isn''t big enough for it anyway...

I like the 'swirl' too. What is Amelia's birthstone (I'm sorry I don't know already).

I found the pic I was looking for for the shank and swirl. With Leon's execution and the banding.

What kind of PS mama would I be if I didn''t have a baby with a diamond birthstone? She just made it...I have an April Fool''s baby. Fitting, isn''t it?

That was what I suspected, but didn't want to assume. ROLMAO at PS Momma. Very true.

I can see women screaming "INDUCE LABOR NOW" It's April 30th!

As for fitting. I don't know, she's a cute little bug. There's no fooling about that. But I guess we'll find out in her teenage years won't we

Fitting because with my sense of humor, we just KNEW I was going to get an April Fool''s baby. TGuy called girl and April 1 when we found out we were pregnant. I told him on the morning of March 31st before he went to work that he better be on high alert mode if he really thought we were going to have an April Fool''s baby. I wish I could have seen his face that afternoon when I told him my water broke. There was at least a full second''s hesitation before he said something and I could tell he was trying to figure out if I was joking or not.

Hehehe, Gypsy, you didn''t know what my L&D was played out on Pricescope? Dani talked me through the early part of my labor when my water broke (I was on Pricescope at the time and announced I was going to go bake a cake) It goes for several pages on the Preggo thread...around page 200 if my memory serves me correctly.

Okay... that sounds entertaining. I''m going to go and check it out!

Wow, it''s still a dead heat!

I put my vote in here too.

JM! I love how the simple setting doesn''t take away from your gorgeous pad and it''s a lot more wearable. Low maintenance, kid-friendly, and no babying.

Okay you lunatic I read TWENTY FIVE PAGES of posts about you, Mrs.S and Jas12.

Chocolate Cake, more information than I EVER need about AF from the wonderful Dani, Toxema, and then your birthing story which had me terrified, howling with laughter (Ducky), then in awe-- for you.

No, I still don''t want to go through it. But, wow....

You rock babe. I already knew it, but its different reading it like that. She''s a beautiful girl.

For anyone interested here''s the page T-gal''s baby story is on (though most have probably read it)
