I voted for number 1 because the stone shines so much more in this setting than the other two to me! it's a beautiful stone and I congratulate you on your engagement.

LOVE!

the only thing that i would personally do is also get a plain, or twisted, or engraved (but still sans diamonds ) wedding band in the same rose gold. rose gold on either side with that plat band sandwiched betwixt, yum

+1

I think asschers shine in settings with a little omph, personally.

I like 2 or 3.
Someone recommended Beverly K:
This is the only one that caught my eye:

This one is pretty but shoulders are probably too wide for the look you want. http://www.beverleyk.com/engagement-rings/r9632-c-d-d-cz.html

If you go for a solitaire, personally I'd for one with a small donut like the BGD Grace or, my preference is for cathedral, like the Elegance by BGD. I'm sure GOG can get you something similar to those as they are classic styles.

Aw, thanks Tekate! Yep, that's what we're going with!

Thanks Gypsy, I'll file all these ideas away for my reset!

Hi Rhino! Yes, my FI just called to change the metal to platinum. 8)

I've got to agree with Rhino, I love the Huldak  What size of asscher is shown, though?

My second choice would be #1 in white gold - knife edge band. You paired beautifully with baguette w/ring.

I don't think that you'd ever 'need' to update ether setting - both are timeless. :cheeky:

If you really love vintage, either of the other two would work, but to me, all the milgrain clutters up the clean simplicity of the asscher.

Good luck :appl: :wavey:

Hm, maybe I misunderstood the Huldak comment ...

The asscher is 1.6 or exactly 6.43 x 6.47. http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/11662

I'm going with #1, but in platinum. And yes, I'm hoping no update will ever be required! I'll probably have to stop hanging around here to ensure that doesn't happen though.

LOL Maybe I did too. I was just saying hi and expressing a little excitement for you.

I think that is an excellent decision for a forever setting..all platinum! :appl:

lol no worries Tekate. I don't think I even noticed at the time. And thanks! =)

I love the idea of the solitaire in rose gold! Can't wait to see it.

My engagement ring is also an asscher solitaire in rose gold, only mine is kite set. I hope you'll post photos of yours with the band you decide on. That's what I'm having trouble with right now!

Not sure if you've already made a decision kellc, but here is my set. I went with the platinum vs. rose gold. I tried on different diamond wedding bands and also an engraved band, and I just thought plain looked best in the end. I found this one at TIffany's, at 1.7 mm it was the closest match to my engagement ring. I'm really thrilled with the set. Love to see a picture of what you decided on, if you have.
