Hi all,

I'm currently in the process of having BGD recut my old engagement ring diamond and place it into a setting.

Just curious which setting you would choose for a 1.185 carat diamond (size after recut):

Six prong basket

4 prong pendant

For what it's worth, my new three stone ring will have a six prong center/three prong sides, but my current studs have four prongs (although I do hope to upgrade these in the future).

Also, any thoughts on a single bail vs. double bail? Would it look odd to switch out the single bail on the six prong pendant to a double bail?

Thanks so much for your help!!

I actually already own the Barbara! Agreed - so beautiful! I inherited a .50 carat round diamond and had it set into that setting awhile back! ;)

I've just had a ring repurposed into a pendant. Mine's only a small stone, but I love the way the bezel has really made the diamond pop and I love the way it looks like it's floating on the chain.

I prefer the first 6 prong, single bale. Not a fan of a double bale at all.
But with that size diamond, I would do a the martini style pendant. It would look gorgeous (but I'm biased as I have 3.)

I have a strong preference for the 6 prong, single bail - but that’s just ME

I just had 0.69 stone (BG blue) set in the 6 prong single bale setting (platinum) and I love it.
