Here''s what I''m looking for in a diamond:

bright and sparkly
lots of colored light return
big size as possible
price around $3000 max

With all I''ve learned about a diamond''s cut I''d still like a few more opinions. I''ve found these diamonds and would really appreciate your opinions as to which will most likely fulfill my list and be the best rock for the money.

(I hope it''s ok if I post links. You can see images if you want.)

Have you seen "K" color in person? I''m not a fan of "K" colored stones EXCEPT some fancy shaped stone in antique, vintage-ish settings.

So of your three choices, I''d be inclined toward the H. Have you looked at other online vendors? Good Old Gold?

The .802 H, SI2. It has a great idealscope! Regarding the size issue, I have a .85 and it's a perfect size! Plus, while I'm not *too* sensitive to color, K might be a tad too warm. My "I" has just about the right amount of warmth, IMO.

Have you decided on a setting?

Hello! Well, here''s my humble opinion...

I like #1 the best. I like the specs, and I think it''s a GREAT size. You''ll have the "look" of a full carat, but without the premium paid for it. I think it will face up beautifully white (I''m SOOO glad WF is carrying "K" colored stones now!) and it looks like a killer to me.

I am not as crazy about #2... for one thing, I''m not crazy about the skinnier arrows. I know the stone is a little bigger than #1, and I AM a *SIZE* girl... but I still like #1 better.

#3 looks to be a fine stone, no doubt quite beautiful, too (and could possibly be your better choice if you think the K color will be an issue?)... but it''s significantly smaller... and with that killer #1 in the running, why bother??!

I would wait for a 0.9 J/SI2.

the stone that best fits the criteria you''ve outlined is #1

can''t wait to see what you decide!

I agree with belle :}

Cut wise its my favorite of those you posted.
I looks like its on that was meant to be a classic ACA that just missed the mark for some reason.
The classics are my favorite and because it didnt make ACA you save a lot of $$ and get most if not all of the performance depending on why it didnt make it.

Wow, thanks everyone! I actually have not seen a K diamond in person, I have simply seen photos of them here on PS. To me they look beautiful, and I''m sure a lot of that depends on the cut. I know that I should see some Ks in person before I buy because you can''t tell real color on a computer screen, but the few jewelry stores I''ve gone into looked at me like I was a crazy lunatic when I asked if they had any Ks!!

One questions about skinny arrows, please!!! I''ve searched on PS to find out about this but didn''t get a clear enough answer. Are arrows skinny because the diamond is too deep? Or is it another issue? And how does this effect the beauty?

Thanks!

and truthfully, the level of cut that you find in most jewelry stores will not even come close to being as good as these stones so the comparison wouldn''t be the same. i would suggest having the stone sent to you for inspection. if you decide the ''k'' color is not right for you, the most you would be out is the return shipping (which would be about $20-$30)

the size of the arrows is effected by the length of the lower girdle facets not the depth. the effect on ''beauty'' would be the difference between broader flashes of light versus smaller flashes of light.
btw..i would consider the arrows on the first stone perfect in size

I adore number one, and I have a K, it is warm but in a pleasent way. Winter white rather yellow.
