I would not pick the first one (Etsy) if workmanship matters to you. The diamond melees are not lined up (zig-zaggy) and the outer rim of metal isn't straight.

Gypsy, feel free to post something if you (or others) find it. Budget is low, approximately $1500-$1600. I like small /dainty melee, and don't want the center stone to sit high. Also I don't like a lot of metal to show around the halo.
 
Have you checked out IDJ? they are amazing with a budget.
 
If I had to pick I would choose the ebay. It would have to be a halo with a plain shank, but my setting was Ritani and in 14K WG and it was about 1600, the Palladium one on there is quoted as 1650. They have online chat where you could contact them and ask. I would link you but the website doesnt work on internet explorer and thats all this computer has. Weird I know :roll:

ETA my setting is delicate as all get out, too.

I too really like the one you posted (1,312) and it fits the budget! I don't like halos that are two square, I prefer a softer rounded look if that makes sense.

Anything else?
 
I also like the Gabriels Gypsy found better than either of your original options.

I think it's HI eyeclean if you are buying a gold setting (I think the platinum settings get FG). Very reliable settings and quality.
 
Definitely the Gabriel & Co settings over either of those (ETA: referring to the first 2, the Etsy and Ebay ones)! Nice finds, Gypsy!
 
Well thanks to Gypsy, I've been in contact with Luann at IDJ. :wink2:

I have a price from her, just waiting to hear back on the quality of stones.

I'm from Canada, so I'm torn whether I send them my diamond to mount there - or have it mounted here. I think I would prefer to have IDJ mount it, but not sure how the shipping would work - i.e. regarding customs and the value of the ring etc. So I will ask Luann.

Awesome, I'm sure you'll be very happy going this route! And I would have IDJ set your stone if possible, they do those yummy claw prongs :love:
 
Congratulations on your upgrade! If you can swing it, I would have IDJ do it as they do great prong work. But if you can't ask for recommendations for places local to you in a new thread.

t_l_b, have you explored the Beverly K mounts she linked to? I really love those, especially the first! I had a princess halo at one time, and I love the softness the Beverly K's have in their design!

I love Gabriel settings but they aren't "perfect" in terms of some of the melee can be "off," at least the one I tried on. I liked it though. I wanted my e-ring to look more hand made. That's just my opinion!

I did rainydaze, but honestly I prefer a simple design. I also showed them all to my husband, and we both agreed on the same one. ;))

It's just the 13% HST. Or you can ship to a FEDEX location just across the boarder and claim across boarder. You can also use a mail box facility like usaddressinc.com.

Ooops ... I just assumed you were Toronto.
 
Hey twolittlebirds! Did you decide on this Gabriel setting from IDJ? http://www.gabrielny.com/engaged/style/ER7266W44JJ 1,312 (I really like this one). Nice choice! - I love the basket under the halo - those little details make it so special! I had my OEC set into an IDJ setting and Yekutiel split the prongs and made them as claw like as possible - I think you'll be very pleased with how your ring looks when you get it.

It is just the 13% HST to ship to Ontario - there may or may not be a Fedex handling fee as well. I have and have not been charged, so just keep that in mind when it is delivered. IDJ is very quick so it shouldn't be a long wait once you place your order - excited to see the finished setting!

Enerchi, yes it should be just the 13%... but I'm not sure how it works when shipping the actually diamond (.73 ct) back and forth - I want to make sure neither of us are charged for that. Clear as mud?

I will be calling them again tomorrow, I'm sure they've been asked this before.
