Comparing these two pears, which one grabs you? They are close in size.

***disclaimer I can only base it off what I see in front of me***

I like the top one the most based on the pictures I'm seeing. Did these images come from video??

With regard to the first pear: the color certainly seems more saturated as well as much more even. It also falls into the pinkish red that is so wildly popular with spinels.

The second pear appears to have some purple modifier, not as saturated, and it doesn't seem that its color distribution is even.

I am predicting, based on these photos, you'll get a lot of votes for the first pear.

I will have some new IRL hand photos of both later to post.

If I get one of them, I want to set it like Chrono's pear with Whiteflash.

Hi, BrightIce :wavey:

Are you getting hand shots from the vendor(s) or are you going to have them in hands? :naughty:

Could you please link us to Chrono's setting? I'd love to see your plans.

Sorry, I mean I will have photos of them on a vendor's hand

Here is the link to Chrono's original post

I like the top one but the pictures are a little hard to compare because I can't seem to get a sense of the lighting conditions on the first one.

Thanks IndyLady. I know it's hard to tell with the photos provided on their website. They sent me photos on a person's hand but I am having problems logging on to my e-mail account here at work today so it will be tonight before I can.

#1is a pretty red and I like the shape better.

I am going to try to put these together....
You want a Spinel redder in color .... Here are your selections :))
They are both GORGEOUS to my eye, but I see your "Pear #2" as being
the pinker of the two.... Pear #1 appears to be the redder ...

Gosh, I wish I had your dilemma....

Thanks ooo-Shiney.

The ONLY way to know is to get them both sent for a side-by-side comparison which I believe I will do.

I hope you have a hold on these so no lurker snatches one

You know, my knee-jerk reaction was to prefer #1, but after seeing the hand-photos of #2, I think seeing them IRL is the way to go. The colors look different to me on the hand as compared to the vendor photos, so it would be hard to judge just from the photos. I'll be looking forward to seeing what you think once you get them.

Just a question; but do you have the cut specs? I'm curious about them for sure. You've bought the stones which is great! that was going to be my next question!!

Sorry, I meant the size of each of them? (dimensions LxWxD) I'd also be curious as to the depth of each stone particularly. Both of them look great, but based on one of the pictures, stone #1 looks like it may be shallow? It could also just be the angle in which the picture was taken though.

Thanks bright ice. It appears its just me looking at the pictures! The dimensions look fine to me. Both stones are very lovely but quite different!

I'm very excited for you and can't wait for you to get them in hand :appl:

Yes, as well does GIA. In his video it really looked more of pinkish red. We shall see :cheeky:

From what you're looking for, I'd say #1...but I agree that seeing them side by side is the way to go!

Once you get the stones side by side, I imagine one of them will just jump up at you and say "PICK ME", but they both look to be very nice stones. From the photos so far, I like #1, but I certainly wouldn't complain about #2, it looks to be very nice also.

From pictures, I was tempted to say, N 1, from hand photos, N 2. I guess you have to look at them on your hand side by side to see which one is more saturated and less orangey.

And when/if you get them, can you, please, post pictures so that we can compare photos with real stones?

They both went back.

Neither were close to the color I am looking for. Too lightly saturated and more on the orangey side.

I don't know if this is worth it. I have racked up some fees in shipping already.

OH, you didn't take photos ?

I wish I could have seen your real life pictures,
sometimes that is nice, when compared to the vendor photos....
Do you think you want a more blue-red then?
As opposed to an orangey-red.....
Perhaps a ruby would work for you,
more so than a spinel??

Well, anyway.
I was really hoping one of those would be "the one"
but there is still hope !!!!!!

It might take a while, but your stone is out there somewhere !!!!!
