This one: .556 G SI1 1536$ Larger face up for less money and appears to be eye-clean.

thanks Mat, I could spend a little more for a larger size. I know this sounds awful, but I'' m trying to avoid Whitefllash because I don''t want to pay for the sales tax here in Texas!

I''d rather spend those $ on the pendant.

Yes, those are WF''s. But I was using those for guidelines. Sorry, I should have explained that. I appreciate your help. RB''s are greek to me.

Mat, I looked at the one from GOG you gave me the link to. When I look at the Hearts image there are scattered black flecks across it. Can you tell me what that is? It''s not inclusions, right? There is one inclusion close to the center.

does anyone else have any suggestions?

I''m budgeting around 2,000 for the stone. H and higher and eye clean.

I don''t want to pay Texas sales tax (8.25%) unless I absolutely have to.

I need to get the ball rolling on this, she graduates May 19.

0.61 F SI1 Price listed as $1986 on search by cut engine.

If you go to search by cut and then click on source, it will line the stones up by vendor and price. That way you can avoid WF, although I must say that they have the best online selection for what you''re looking for.

That 1 stone, the F SI1 looks promising,

Any more suggestions? Need help here, guys.

Did you do the search up above by cut? I just did a search for .5-.7ct, D-H color and there were a lot of good possiblilties. GoodOldGold, Winfields and DirtcheapDiamonds had a lot of possibilities.

Does anyone know why I can''t open the link to Winfield''s diamonds from the search tool? I guess you can always go to his website and search for that diamond there though!

I did and I am looking now, but I have a question about another one, the .64 G VS1 (James Allen), it ranks 1.1 and the .61 scored a 1.6, which is better, the lower? is there that much difference in size between the .61 @ 5.43 x 5.47 x 3.33 - vs- the .64 @ 5.54 x 5.57 x 3.38

thanks, I really need this help

Welcome to our (CA) world.

And near the city it''s more!

high sales tax, high propety taxes, but no income tax, yet.

I am in the minority here I'm sure but I would never pay that premium for a fancy schmancy perfect H&A for a pendant stone in that size or really any size...I purchased my own pendant going by my eyes and a GIA cert...and you bet your booty you can see beautiful arrows when I hold it just so.........but you're eyes can't tell the diff in that size between a perfect H&A and an otherwise ideal and beautiful stone...there is a point where it just doesn't pay- well, unless you're a ps vendor

I just think perfect H&A is quite a bit of hype...but that's just me ... i'd much rather get an expert selection stone...

mmm

yeah, I do agree, but I am totally ignorant about rb''s. Though I am learning a bit now. But I need to do this sorta quick and need to know it''s a beauty.

Well, I was just thinking that at that weight (a very nice weight for a pendant)...the premium you pay for the H&A isn''t that much...so if it makes you feel good, go for it!

I just have to say how lucky your daughter is! Is this high school or college graduation? I hope she appreciates what a beautiful stone she''ll be getting and the effort her mom put in to choosing it!

thanks MMM, but that little darling is from WF and I''m in Houston, which equates to sales tax!!

Or should I just bite the bullet

Help!!!

Ann I would suggest calling up one of the pricescope vendors like Good Old Gold that is not located in Texas and tell them what you are looking for. They could probably recommend an appropriate stone from their in-house inventory and set it for you.

thanks sundial, that is probably what I will have to do. I was trying to get a blessing from the good folks here on a stone!

What about this one from Good Old Gold?

http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/1804/

0.62ct H, SI2
Price $1,840.88 (bank wire price $1,778.63)
