Sorry, I had the descriptions flip flopped in Diamonds 2 and 3. Fixed now.

Do these look like good buys?

I think it''s between 1 and 2 for me. 1 is the biggest but 2 is what the JA rep says the gemologist like the best.

Here''s what the JA rep said his gemologist said:

"She felt (diamond 1) definitely appeared bigger than the others but it contained the most yellow coloring.
...
(Diamond 2) is an extremely beautiful VS2, the clarity is based on little white clouds under the table that are not eye visible. This diamond (diamond 2) looks larger than (diamond 3) and faces up whiter. She states that this diamond (diamond 2) by far is her favorite. (Diamond 3) is similar to the (diamond 1), but is smaller and appears darker towards the center which is not as appealing."

Number 2 is my favorite of the magnified pictures.

I was worried it might look a little dark since there was a bit of blue under the table in the ASET, and not showing too much red in the edges, but I don''t think it looks overly dark in the magnified.

I guess I''m leaning towards 2 then! I initially thought I wanted to go for size over other attributes but I think this will be worth the minor downsize.

1. With a depth of 72.9% and a table of 70%, will this diamond (diamond 2) do well in the area of fire? What about brilliance?

2. One thing I never learned about is polish. Is a "very good" polish anything to worry about (as opposed to "excellent" polish)?

Depth and table won''t tell you about fire really, table size and crown height can be related to fire but it would be best to ask one of the gemologists to inspect the stone and tell you how it performs as we would only be speculating.

The naked untrained eye cannot normally distinguish between good and above for polish and symmetry.
