Hi

I’m looking at purchasing a lab grown diamond for setting in an engagement ring. Did a search and found these 2.

Put it into diamondscreener and it’s within the AGS/GIA intersection.

First has a HCA score of 1 and stonealgo gives it a cut score of 9.6. ASET image below on stone algo.

Stats wise it looks good, and I’m getting it for a good price too. But I’m not as good with telling whether it looks good on the ASET image. Hence would appreciate some views on this. Thank you!

Second is this stone which has a HCA score of 0.9 and stonealgo score of 9.7. On price scope though, it says the second stone “looks average” in size while the first “looks larger” in size compared to its carat weight.

Grateful for views on which is better! The price of both is the same. IMG_2553.pngIMG_2554.pngIMG_2553.png

Do you have videos? At first glance, I like the one ending in -3457 better in terms of cut. Can’t evaluate for other things u less we see the video.

The HCA is an exclusion tool, not a selection tool. Anything <2 is worth considering.

Thank you for your advice! I only managed to find these two pictures online :(

Ah but I have these two additional pictures of the stone ending with -208 that the store took for me.

The pictures are screen grabs from a video so they are available.
Buying labs without spin video is a bad idea.

I asked the store for the video but they don’t have them :( (these diamonds are from a brick and mortar store in Asia).

I got two sets of live pictures though…not sure if it would be more informative. Grateful for advice, thank you

I'm certainly not a top expert, but I'm pretty certain, given the cut proportions, color grades, clarity, etc, etc., plus ratings on StoneAlgo, DiamondScreener, and HCA, that both of these stones, when viewed in real life, will be beautiful...and that side-by-side, you would be hard-pressed to notice any difference between the two. You'd have to stare at them for days, until you went bonkers. If they were mined diamonds, choosing either one of these would be a no-brainer...especially at that price. It's nit-picking at a certain point, looking at photos/videos in mammoth proportion to the actual size of the real little pebble of a stone. My lab diamond rated similar to yours in all categories using the various online tools (.09 HCA, 9.7 StoneAlgo, middle of intersection on DiamondScreener)...and it sparkles and scintillates...and throws-off a gorgeous rainbow colors in all lighting conditions...except in total darkness..lol... Really, for that price, and all price aside, I believe them to both be winners, and any size difference between the two is so negligible as not to be discernable to the naked human eye.
