Thank you, but I strongly dislike the taste of avocado.
I never eat it or even guacamole.
Does its oil taste like avocado?
Is there another oil you like?
I use peanut oil for its neutral flavor and high smoke point.
What about sesame oil? It's great in Asian dishes.![]()
+100 for avocado oil. I find it to be flavourless (YMMV!) and with a great high smoking temp (perfect for making popcorn with on the stovetop).
It's probably not "heart healthy" but I'll also put in a good word for ghee. Love the stuff. Life-changing, actually. Sear your steaks with it and you are in for a treat!
Coconut oil is also popular but I find that it has a much stronger taste than avocado, olive, etc. Hence, we don't use it much at home.
Coco oil - same here. Usually for desserts... I also don't appreciate that it can go rancid fairly quickly is stored incorrectly!I agree on the coconut oil

i only used it in things that benefited from the coconut flavour as i found it really strong
I wouid hope avo oil is a bitter less bad for us as avos are ment to be good arn't they?

Ive seen it but its a bit pricy if its not going to be nice
right now the cannola oil im using has a taste im not enjoying - its not old but its been very hot over the summer

I read lotsa hoopla about the current fad, coconut oil.
But, at 82% saturated fat, it must be very bad for your heart.
Here's the percentage of saturated fat in the six oils of the article:
Coconut 82%
Ghee 65%
EVOO 14%
Avocado 12%
Safflower 8%
Canola 7%

It has more total saturated fat than beef or butter.
