We celebrate three gift-giving holidays, Christmas, Birthdays, and Anniversary. Our anniversary is the biggest to me. I don''t care if I only get a card for the other two, but our anniversary means a lot to me. DH put equal weight on his birthday and christmas with less on our anniversary.

Which holidays are a bigger deal to you?

Ooo, good topic! With just a year of marriage under our belts, I''d say the hubster and I are still trying to settle in to a balance: for him, it''s Christmas, for me, New Years; for me, birthdays are a huge deal, for him, not so much. Actually, if anything, I''d say Halloween is our biggest shared holiday - at two days past our anniversary, it has a special kind of a significance.

Especially while we have our boys (9 & 13), it will be a while before we knock out Halloween. Nevermind it had been a perpetual favorite of mine.

Then...maybe grandchildren?

I should be so lucky!

Hmmm, I have to think about that one. I''m from a small family and my husband is from a larger one. We celebrate Christmas Eve at his parents'' or his siblings'' houses and then Christmas Eve at my parents'' house. So I''d say Christmas is the biggest holiday we celebrate because it involves the most people.

Easter and Thanksgiving aren''t the most exciting. We usually celebrate with one set of parents, but it''s usually just the four of us.

We just got married a few months ago, so we haven''t celebrated an anniversary yet. We have plans to go to the venue we got married at because it''s a restaurant. We may make a weekend out of it and also go to the restaurant we had our rehearsal dinner at. I think we may start that tradition next summer, on our first anniversary.

As far as gifts go, we don''t really give each other gifts. We usually plan something to do together instead. If one of us gets concert tickets, for example, the other one will treat to a nice dinner out.

I would say that it is Christmas in our family...especially having small children who are anxiously awaiting Santa!

Definitely Christmas! I adore it!

For DH and I we love to celebrate our Anniversary. It will be 28 years for us next March.

For the family, it has to be Christmas, especially with our grandboys. They are so excited.!!

Easter! I love that it occurs in spring and signifies the rebirth of life. No stress with finding presents, just a pure renewing holiday!

Christmas for sure. Biggest gifts, biggest challenge for surprising, etc.

Birthdays are probably the smallest scale - usually gifts are less than $50 and practical, but we may celebrate more with friends/family. DH and I make each other cakes. :)

Anniversary is when we take a trip!

Definitely Giftmas

Birthdays we do gifts and a nice meal, anniversaries we just go out for a meal.

Christmas for sure

Christmas was my dad''s favorite holiday. It was a *huge* production at home. We''ve kept that tradition alive.

Our anniversary is right around Easter!

I find Christmas very stressful. We have to juggle two families in different countries and never get to do what we want to do. I need to find a way to re-organize Christmas. If we took a year out for ourselves to celebrate we''d end up with DH''s family since they only live about 20 minutes away.
