You did very well on the yellow sapphire then - and I metaphorically eat my hat! Congratulations! :appl:

I did very well regarding the 3.34 carat Ruby as well - "No indications of heating" (NTE)! :D
Origin is changed from Burma (Mogok) to East Africa (no country specified) because it were something regarding the high amount of "Iron".

Whatsoever, I purchased it for only $207.00.

Earlier someone at PriceScope told me that Rubies with high Fluorescence was more expensive and more RARE than those with low Fluorescence and that a "good" quality Ruby should have strong Fluorescence. Whatsoever, this is totally UNCORRECT!

Higher amount of Iron = higher Fluorescence = NOT found in Burma = less Value!
Strong Fluorescent Rubies are only found in Africa.

How do I know?
A Ruby specialist at GIA told me this information, therefore they could determine that my Ruby was NOT Burmese but from Africa.

Hello all,

I have a yellow sapphire and ruby from gemstoneuniverse.com for astrological/jyotish purposes. I have them certified from labs based in Asia: yellow sapphire (EMIL) and ruby (IGI). They have certified that they are natural and unheated.

For EMIL suggests that "natural sapphire measuring 6.80x8.26x5.89mm with
no conclusive indications of heat enhanced condition. Our origin opinion is Sri Lanka."

Please share your expert thoughts on dependability of these reports from EMIL and IGI and how reliably EMIL and IGI can detect heat treatment.

Thank you!

If EMIL found the Sapphire to be heated - they would state it like this;

As stated on your other threads, these labs aren't reliable.

I agree @lovedogs . David Weinberg of Multiolour who trades primarily from Bangkok has said that some labs could be fake. We were discussing a jadeite certification by PNJ Lab of Vietnam (whether PNJ Lab is fake - this we don't know yet).

David then remarked that he has stopped using Emil Labs. He did not elaborate further as to why he stopped using them.

As for trusting a lab: DSEF in Idaroberstein. Pedantic German Scientists.
