Hi guys,

Could you please look at these two diamonds. Is one better than the other?

Thanks

Hello, Corkman!
My opinion: for the price tag of the BG diamond, I think you can choose a better option from the WF ACA inventory:

Thanks Dejawiz.

Hello,

Can someone recommend a center stone diamond, from WF? Price range 12k to 15k. We have already picked the setting. 18k White gold Verragio Venetian. Item 21083. I want a real sparkle bomb!! In terms of HCA…….Is 1.4 better than 1.1?

Is your fiancé planning on wearing a wedding band? The ring you are considering may not pair well with a band. Food for thought.

I would go with the 1.59 G, VS2. A stunner with fabulous size!

Would it be ok as the center stone, on a three stone ring with a 4.5 size finger?

Yes it would. I think it would be beautiful and she would be happy with it for a very long time. Diamond shrinkage syndrome is real and it happens fast! Lol! However, with a diamond that size in a three stone ring, I think that dreaded shrinkage syndrome would be held at bay. Her smaller finger will just help it to look even larger. You can ask Whiteflash to show you the diamond with some side stones to get an idea of the size. If you are serious about the diamond, you might want to put it on reserve as folks lurk around here and have been known to snatch up recommended diamonds. Let us know what you decide!

Ok thanks! I reserved it. Should I go for a white gold or platinum setting?

Excellent! White gold is a whiter metal. However, it will need to be replated with rhodium from time to time. Platinum is not always as white, but will never need replating. It can be polished to obtain the shiny finish. I think most would advise platinum; with a three stone ring you won’t see much of the shank except in the back of the ring (palm side). Platinum prongs are generally preferred as well. Do you have a picture of the setting you are considering? Whiteflash carries Verragio settings too.

Are the side diamonds included with the setting? And I am assuming she is ok with an intricate setting - doesn’t need to wear gloves or anything in her job?

The side diamonds are included. She is not working right now., but will be in the future. That’s the ring she likes. Do you feel the ring, would be very high maintenance? We both like the more fancy ones!

It would have to be worn with more care because of the pave and intricacy, but then I baby my rather utilitarian three stone too. If that is the ring you both like, go for it. I am sure that Verragio sells lots of them so all of those folks can’t be wrong! She shouldn’t do dishes, housework, gardening etc. while wearing it, but most of us don’t wear our rings to do those things either.

Thanks for all your help! Do you see a fancy three stone setting, that you think is nicer? So hard to make up our minds! We are very humble, and open to advise

I think Verragio or Tacori make some of the fanciest settings I've seen. I personally have always wanted to put as much money into the diamond as I could rather than the setting so not real familiar with the fancier settings. If she has picked what she wants and you really like it too, then go for it. If somewhere down the road she decides she doesn't love it, she can always reset the diamond into another setting and put a colored gemstone in this one. Hope that doesn't happen for her but I say this just to say that there are always options.

You could consider buying two ACA diamonds like this for a simpler three stone ring. These would be larger than the ones in the Verragio setting and give great finger coverage. Three ACA diamonds would give lots of gorgeous bling but you would loose the fancy swirls and pave of the fancier setting. Just a thought if you wanted to consider a different route. https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-di...-vs2-clarity-round-excellent-cut-sku-a4693314 in a ring like this: https://www.whiteflash.com/engageme...tone-trellis-diamond-engagement-ring-1025.htm

This is a beautiful ring! If this is the ring you both like, I would trust your gut. I am a nurse anesthetist and work HEAVILY with my hands in a very busy & fast paced environment (operating room) and I have no time to be fussing with worrying about my rings getting beat up. I have to wear gloves essentially 90% of the time and have no issues with gloves tearing. I have an intricate 3 stone ER (2.4 ct center stone with 0.5 ct side stones) with pave 1/2 around the ring on the band after the 3 stone and a 5 stone wedding band with matching pave 1/2 around the ring after the 5 stone. I wear this every day in my job without reservation. I do have my ring inspected/evaluated by my jeweler and if anything needs to be restored or improved upon inspection, I do that. My ring is insured with Jewelers Mutual, so I wear it with love/confidence and don't look back. :kiss2: This all depends on your preferences for a ring, though. I certainly have colleagues who would never wear their ER to work. By the end of the year before I send my ring to be inspected, it has certainly developed a patina (platinum setting), but when I receive it after inspection and any restorations that might need to happen to keep the integrity of the ring, it looks brand new! When I get a report on my ring, they do tell me they can tell I work with my hands, but I've never had issue with loose diamonds or bent prongs, etc. They do say the metal is worn down and they do usually restore a few prongs, but it's never something significant or anything I can see with the naked eye.

I hope this helps some. I know when I finally decided to go with my setting and wedding band, I was very concerned if I would be able to wear it unencumbered in my work setting, since many people worried me that I'd never be able to wear it to work. I've had no issues and have been profoundly happy I went with it.

Happy shopping and I hope you get something both of you love! =)2

Hi guys,

The Venetian centro, would take six weeks. Our wedding is in four! So we chose the WF Rounded three stone pave. We kept the 1.59 diamond.. Wire has been sent. We should receive it, in two weeks.

Thanks everyone for your help!

Corkman

Can’t wait to see the finished pics!!

Excellent choice! It is blingy and should be beautiful! Can't wait to see hand shots of this ring!

Hi guys,

So the ring will be mailed out today. But I am a bit confused I thought the Diamond was an ideal cut It says super ideal! But then click on it, and it says excellent! Was this a mistake? Is there a big difference between ideal and excellent?IMG_4751.png

Whiteflash a cut above is a super ideal diamond because they are cut to exacting standards and held in house by WF. GIA (the body who certified the diamond) doesn't have a category called "super ideal". They have from poor to excellent (worst to best). We always tell folks that GIA excellent isn't good enough because many stones labeled ad "excellent" aren't well cut since the category is so broad. In your case, however, you chose a stone that is much more precise than most GIA excellent. It also has all the advanced imaging to "prove" it's a true super ideal cut. Hope that makes sense!

Ps. The term "super ideal" is one used on pricescope but not by any certification. It's how we describe stones cut to extreme precision, with advanced imaging, and held in house.

Ok thanks. Is there much difference between ACA ideal v excellent cut? I thought I had the best cut
