I cannot tell which one is better.

One has better clarity, while the other has better color. It will be going in a round halo platinum with F-G colored diamonds which is what concerns me about the J color. So should I go with the i color?
BUT I used the HCA tool and the J colored diamond is 0.8 while the I color 2.7.

So many factors!

Ok. Thanks. I never really considered a pre-loved diamond but I may look into that.
I dont know much about diamonds (obviously) - how can you tell if a diamond is well-cut or not?

Ditto SimoneDi. What's your budget? Would you be ok with a smaller stone?

As far as color, it depends on the wearer. a halo will cover the side of the stone where tint will be mostly seen and a J face up won't be icy white but still should look white. It would be best to visit a few b&m stores and ask to see some GIA stones in colors H-J just to see how you feel about a warmer stone.

The crown angle is a little high on this but it still scores well on the HCA and visually it looks really nice. You'd just have to be sure you're OK with the strong fluoro and ask the vendor to make sure it's not causing any haziness in the stone.

There are commonly suggested parameters to stay in to make sure you have a nicely cut stone: (There are of course exceptions

Depth: 60-62.3
Table: 53-58
Crown Angle: 34-35 (up to 35.5 crown angle can sometimes work with a 40.6 pav angle)
Pavillion: 40.6-40.9 (sometimes 41.0 if the crown angle is close to 34)
