Hi, I'm looking for some advice on a few diamonds I have found on James Allen. I am looking for an emerald cut diamond to put into the setting below. I don't have a great knowledge of diamonds or exactly what is best to look for so any help would be great.

What I am looking for is an emerald cut with a more rectangular look than square. I have a few diamonds that I like the look of, so if you could tell me which one you recommend is better, or any other diamonds you know of that you recommend. Cheers!

I prefer this diamond but i have noticed it is darker in the middle compared to the diamond at the top??

Is the darkness because the diamond is too deep at 70.30%?

According to the guidelines found here (https://www.pricescope.com/wiki/diamonds/emerald-cut-diamond), this depth puts it in the 'US domestic average cut'. The guidelines suggest a total depth of 60-65% as being ideal/premium. Using those guidelines, the other one has a better cut.

Blue Nile have a Signature range of Emerald cuts. Their stones have to meet the following standards:
Signature Emerald-Cut Standards
Crown Height: 9.0-13.9%
L/W Ratio: 1.30-1.40
Depth %: 60.0-68.0%
Table %: 61.0-69.0%
Polish: EX to VG
Symmetry: EX to VG

Have a look at their diamonds and if they appeal to you, you can either investigate buying from there further or use the above parameters in your search.

Hopefully someone else will be able to advise you how to choose a good emerald diamond!
