Which big emerald? Help ASAP please!

I ordered a 4.23 that arrived, but when I put it on, I thought, “hmmm, I can go bigger.” Am I just watching too much you tube jewelry videos? Am I trying to justify the size by saying well everyone (many newly engaged anyway) is getting big lab diamond now so a 5 ct won’t seem obnoxiously huge anymore? Probably, but not sure I care.

Anyway, I think I want to try a 5ct. Is 12 x 8 obnoxious? I found these too that look pretty good. I would not have gone to a G, but I saw 3 jewelers on YouTube last night randomly mention that emeralds are forgiving on color. I did order in a GIA H 10 years ago and did not care for the color. I currently have a D. The 4.23 is an F and is white enough.

ASETs not available on these and the vendor tells me they are similar In terms or performance, but I assume they are only looking at a video.

I like the crown height on the 5.03 (unless it’s too high), but the 5.21 has more “ideal“ proportions.

I’m not an expert, but the videos spin around so quickly that I have hard time assessing the stones. Maybe that’s why other people haven’t been able to chime in and help?

Did you put either of them on hold? You could also get your own ASET out Idealscope. Hope you find a beauty! 5ct sounds amazing!

I am no expert neither but I would say with an EC,especially that large, I would say no less than VVS2 clarity. Reach out to Ari the owner of Kosher diamonds on Etsy. He will find you something spectacular at a price within your budget. Those videos are spinning to fast to really see any inclusions or the faceting patterns but one thing I did notice is that for a G color, they carry alot of yellow

I agree with cushioncutnut, and emeralds can be the least forgiving in color and clarity so if you’re color sensitive stay in DEF range or maybe the right G.

If the second one is a price you can't refuse, I wouldn't throw it out entirely.

The 5.03 looks like it might have potential to me. Unfortunately, the videos are so blown out with the white background it's
really hard to see what's happening. Also, not being able to spin the video at your own speed doesn't help either.
