Hello everyone, first of all just wanted to thank everyone for contributing to this forum, i've learnt so much just lurking and reading for the past few months.

I am looking at purchasing an Asscher, as they are just geometrically mesmerizing, and I've narrowed it down to 3 on JA. Each has it's own unique quality to it and I honestly love them all. Which would you choose? And why?

Any advice would be immensely appreciated. I really cannot wait to be on one knee, with the ring in my hands and asking her to marry me.

The 1.16 carat. It has better faceting and looks less leaky

I like the 3rd one - it doesn't have the black lines through it. I recently bought an EC from JA, which is beautiful, and I really tried to avoid those black areas as they will most likely (not always) also look black in real life. Worth putting it on hold so it doesn't get snatched up while you are waiting!

ETA: You can put up to 3 stones on hold and have them run ASET images, sarin reports, and have a gemologist look at them for you. Sometimes it's good to trust the eyes of the experts. :)

Without an aset I like the first one, but you really need to order asets and post.

Thanks for the replies everyone, I have just asked them to run ASET images for all 3.

Just based on the 360 image, the 1st one was my initial favourite as it seems to me to have the better faceting. windmills are nice and wide, and its really sparkly compared to the rest.
My first impression for the 3rd one was that it looked glassy.
The depth of the 2nd one attracted me the most, and i kinda thought the black areas made it look special.

Disclaimer: I have no idea what I am talking about and these are thoughts of a total amateur which can easily be swayed by the esteemed gurus of the Pricescope forums. :)

So I've heard that the black areas can be explained by camera reflection. Is there any way to decide between "bad" black spots caused by leakage and the camera reflection? I know sometimes asets aren't always useful for emeralds and asschers due to them being unable to capture the diamond's changes as it shifts.

I vote for either the 1.16ct. G or the 1.01ct. E as they appear to have the most life.

Those are not the best ASET images I have seen. They should be taking them on white backgrounds, for one thing. You want to see more red and blue than green, The black is leakage when the background is black. There usually is some in asschers, but the second and third ones have a lot of black in the center. The first one has less black, but it does not have much red and blue. It's hard to know if their ASET photography is bad or whether the stones really aren't great.

Thanks for your reply.

The consultant I am liaising with says that "with ASET images you want to see a lot of red (this is your direct light return) and green (indirect light return) with a little bit of blue (this is the contrast in the diamond) and very little to no black (this is your light leakage)." Their gemologist picked out the 1st and 3rd diamonds as the better performing ones.

I would agree that the first and third are better than the second one. The third one is more square than the first one, so I might lean more toward that one.

I like the look of the last one you just posted. Have you talked to them about doing another ASET on it? Perhaps they can work with you on it.

yeah i tried requesting for another ASET, but they said they couldn't do it.
The last one looks nice doesn't it.. it's also $770 more than 242780. :(

If it helps, I felt that the big facets looked out of place next to the smaller ones.
