You might remember a few months ago I posted a question regarding my missing inscription on my diamond purchased from GOG. Original thread is here: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/wheres-my-inscription.126811/
Well, I finally decided to email Jonathan to find out the story. He was kind enough to not only explain about the inscription, but to send me a picture of what the inscription looks like under a special viewer.
Here''s a snippet of his email to me:
"The diamond actually is inscribed with what is called an “ionized inscription” which is done on the table of the diamond. The pro is that it is positive ID but the con is you need a special viewer to see it with that can only be seen with an Isee2 viewer. :-S
It’s different from a laser inscription in that a laser inscription is done on the girdle and is inscribed deeper into the diamond. An ionized inscription is faint and on the table."
Below is a picture. I don''t hang out in RT very often, but I thought the resident experts might like to know for future reference. I can''t be the only person who''s purchased an Isee2 diamond and been unable to find the inscription.
Or.... maybe I am!
