Where to Verify and Appraise in Canada (Toronto)

Hello,

Anybody know where to find a good diamond verifier and appraiser in Toronto, Canada? I need the verifying part so that if I purchase a loose diamond online I can then get it verified, then set, then appraised. I was told that this is good practice in case the diamond was swapped during the set. In this way, it can be confirmed that the loose diamond purchased is indeed the diamond set.

Any suggestions?

I live near Kingston. Do you know if you are wanting a GIA certified appraisal? I know that USA certed diamonds has an office in the diamond district...they have a list of appraisers on their website.

Do you have the stone yet? Are you buying it in from the states?

I bought my 1.5 radiant cut from Josephines Jewelry, in the Jewelry exchange in 2004 ( I think?) and I can''t say enough good things about Aziz, the owner. We actually were in town to see a different guy who was a total waste of time and ran in to Aziz outside his shop one night after it closed and just chatted about dogs and travel, etc.

Anyway, if you are willing to shop in the exchange I would definately reccomend him. he took in my .74 princess cut and they remade my ring to accomodate the new stone and it is perfect. my local jeweler, who made the original ring, commented on how nicely done it was.....I will see if I can dig up some pictures.

Is independent
Knowlegable in Jewelry (GG or FGA after thier name)
Knowledgable in Valuation in personal property (ISA, AM, ASA, NAJA, and more after thier name)
