Hi all. I lurked on Pricescope about 9 years ago when my now husband and I were talking about getting engaged. It led us to getting a beautiful 2.0+ carat cushion solitaire with a micro pave band (and matching micro pave wedding band) from Leon Mege that I've been very happy with. I don't have all the details handy, but I love it. I think it's the 401 style.
Fast forward to now and a milestone birthday, and I'm looking for an eternity band for my right hand and not sure where to start and what to expect for my budget. It seems that it would make sense to check out ID Jewelry for eternity bands to get the biggest bang for our buck. Before I shoot off an email to IDJ, can you help me get an idea of what I can expect? When we were e ring shopping, the prices in Chicago were WAY higher than NYC (for the same exact ring since I believe there was a vendor markup) so I want to make sure we're not going into this blind.
size: 6
budget: 4-5k USD
metal: I'd think platinum but is there any advantage to white gold? Doesn't seem like a big price difference so assuming I'll do platinum
shape: thinking round, not opposed to oval diamonds, but that seems to work best for larger stones.
prongs: this is where I need help. priorities would be comfort so thinking a lower profile. also am used to my leon mege where the metal isn't visible which I really like. so which kind of prongs would you all recommend for the least metal exposure and also comfort?
priorities: size (I want some bling!), sparkle, color, clarity
Any insight of what total CW I can expect or the points? Thoguths on prongs or other vendors we should look at in addition to ID Jewelry? My husband sent an email to Leon but never heard back and I just feel like you pay a premium for the setting which isn't as applicable in an eternity band. Thanks in advance!
