I am wanting to purchase some stacking rings (1 -3). I'm not sure on how many I want just yet. I have looked online at a few different places but I thought I'd ask here if anyone knew of a good place to get them. I am working with a limited budget because I'm still in college but wanting to get myself a little something for my upcoming graduation

. I would like to get WG because the purpose of the rings is to test to see if I'm allergic to WG or not and I was wanting a little something more than just a plain WG band. Any information would be great. Thanks!

Hi Mirre,

Are you looking for ones with any specific stones? You might want to check out overstock.com and do a search for sapphire rings - they have several thin bands in white gold with different stones like pink, yellow, and blue sapphires, as well as emeralds and rubies. The rings are thin enough to stack 2-3 depending on the look you want. They are about 1.5mm in width. I bought a few as a gift for my sister for her birthday and she really likes them. Here is a photo of the yellow sapphire one that I got her:

kroshka, Thanks! Yes I had checked there. Those are the ones I''ve been eyeing. I think those are probably my best bet. I really like the pink one! I would love to find a small diamond one to stack with them but those cost a bit more. I found one on Overstock but I''m worried it won''t stack well with them because it''s a bit different.

Hi
Check out facets collection at signed pieces www.signedpieces.com. They have heaps of thin bands worth looking at and a great return policy.
good luck.

As a matter of fact, I bought her the pink one too

For the price, they really are a nice quality and I looked at a lot of places before buying these. I liked how the stones were set and how the ring looked from the side. You don''t have to worry about them scratching up against each other because the sides are smooth and the design is simple and sleek. I also wanted to get a white diamond band, and if I am not mistaken they have one that matches perfect, but the clarity was I1 or lower so I was too concerned with how it would look.

check out the beverley k collection and the spark collection at pearlmans. both make gorgeous rings and make them in WG. the beverley k''s are more antique looking where the spark ones come in a ton of colored stones as well as diamonds and the prices start at $550....

here''s a pic of the spark one''s...

That is a very yummy picture mrssalvo! I''ll have to consider saving more pennies to upgrade my sister''s stack bands in the future.

I think that Tiffanys does some stacking bands also.

Those Beverley K''s are gorgeous!

Hi,

Maybe someone can correct me if I''m wrong, but I believe usually the reason a person has a reaction to WG is because they''re allergic to the nickel alloy. You can buy a nickel allergy testing kit online for a lot less than a tester stack ring.

i missed her comment about wanting a tester ring...MC is right, you can find out if your allergic a lot easier than just buying a $$ ring.

I had posted a thread before about my worries of being allergic to WG and a jeweler (I don''t remember who now) said that usually if you can wear silver you can wear WG and I don''t have a reaction to silver so I think it''s safe to say that I can wear WG but that''s one of my reasonings for wanting them in WG just to be sure. Thanks for the advice on a nickel testing kit.

Also WG is often plated with rhodium and until that begins to wear off (which it will eventually do), you may not have any reaction at all. It could take six months before your finger is exposed to the nickel.

ETA - sounds like you may be okay if you can wear silver. But, just in case anyone is interested in the kits, I looked into them and they're really cheap at only around $15.

Wow! That is pretty cheap! Thanks! I''ll keep it in mind!

This may not be popular with most, but I have seen some great, cheap stacking rings at Macys on sale (white, yellow and rose gold) for around $350.00 for all three. Sure, not wonderful quality, but if the rings are just for fun, I would go ahead with something like that....

Tiffany''s makes beautiful stacking rings...but they range from around $1200-$4000 (or more), but the quality is great.

I am sure other vendors here can make similar rings :) Best of luck!

I love stacking rings too. I have a more 'collectors' approach...where I just keep my eyes peeled and I tend to buy them when I travel as momentos of that place ;) Its a great hobby!

LOL!

Good Luck!

Fellow PS'er Beau tuned me onto my latest 11 stone beauty. It became my Xmas gift. Sitting beside it is a white gold scattered diamond band from DH for my Birthday. Stacking bands make GREAT gifts *wink wink*

I agree, mela lu. The collector''s approach is also a great reason to check out jewelry stores. I picked up the Spark ruby eternity band that mrssalvo posted above at a local jewelers who had it on clearance. Just happened to be the in my size, so I figured it was meant for me! LOL!!
