my fiancee and i are having like 3 -4 different days worth of parties and celebrations for our wedding.. for the american wedding its coming along great and hopefully is going to be a great event! for the wedding celebration we are doing from my side of the family for the cultural pakistani day my fam needs to speed up and get on the ball! :) just wondering since we have all these different days.. what are some websites or even threads on this forums where i can do DIY favors, or invites, or centerpieces, money boxes.. i dunno anything!! to save money and yet still make it look nice.

thanks!!!

i''ve been going to Michael''s for all my stuff. It''s fairly popular and shouldnt be TOO hard to find one, good luck!

i would recommend googling ''discount crafts'' or something similar. i got a lot of my DIY stuff from places like www.save-on-crafts.com, etc. michaels and joanns have a decent amount of stuff, but usually a limited selection (one type of box, etc) and aren''t usually super cheap (cheap...but not *super* cheap)

There are tons of DIY resources out there. I suggest DIY Bride (I don't think there is a DIY Groom site. They expect women to do all the wedding work

.) and the IndyBride forums. If you search DIY here, you will come up with lots of great projects, too.

ETA: You can always google "DIY + ______" and you should come up with several pages. I have been looking to see where we could DIY and have been able to find information on how to do everything, and do it well. My projects:time ratio is out of control, so I will have to not DIY as much as I want, but with enough time, you really could do it all.

So I know alot of people don''t care for Walmart (myself included)... but they have a new party section with ALOT of Martha Stewart items and projects. Everything from guest books to paper bouquets(super cute!) to favor boxes. I''m a Martha lover so I head to her section anytime I find myself at walmart.

also check out projectwedding.com they have ALOT of DIYs.... and also weddingbee.com has been my fav lately.. lots of cool ideas! :-)

Also try MarthaStewart.com.

Oh, since you brought up cost....just be sure to price out both options of your DIY and non..DIY. In some instances I found it more cost effective for me to buy some things. Ie...my earlier thread on my invites and save the dates. I am all for DIY but I found in some instances it just wasn''t worth it.
