Where to find a plain gold chain for a pendant?

What's a good place to buy a plain, sturdy chains for pendants? Nothing fancy or expensive--the pendant will be the star. I don't want to spend more than I have to on the chain.

I'm looking for 14K yellow gold right now to go with a particular pendant, but I'd also like to know where to find plain platinum, rose gold, etc.
