Where to buy pink sapphire in the UK?

Hi all,

I am looking for a pink sapphire for a pendant (pear or radiant cut), around 1.2ct. I would be happy with both bying a loose stone and having it set locally, or buying a finished pendant. I would be grateful for recommendations for any UK based reputable vendors (or vendors delivering to the UK). So far, I looked at Angara and Natural Sapphire Company, but their reviews seem to be mixed.

I would appreciate any advice!

Hi there!

While I personally don't know of any vendors based in the UK, you can check the "list of vendor for reference" thread, I would think most of them ship internationally. Just beware there may be VAT.

If you're just looking for a finished pendant or piece of jewelry and aren't critically picky of the gems like us here on PS, Angara isn't a bad choice. I've bought a very small pink sapphire "heirloom quality" pendant from them in the past (before I discovered PS actually), the color was very good but not exceptional. You can't choose the exact stone you're going to get and they are all heated, but for a finished piece of jewelry with less fuss it might be worth taking a look at.

Try contacting Jeff Davies via his Etsy or eBay shop - he and his son are now based in Wales if an UK-based vendor is a must. Their cuttings are very good and I have purchased quite a few stones from them in the past (I am based in UK).

Their Etsy shop does not appear to have any pink Sapphire in stock, however it is worth contacting them to ask:

Alternatively, try reaching out to the likes of Jeff White and Gary Braun of Finewater Gems in US for custom precision cut stones. They are my lapidary artists of choice.
