Where to buy kitchen and home gadgets in Singapore?

Hi all, I'm in Singapore for a couple of days and have been tasked with buying a range of small gadgets that we can't find at home - inexpensive stuff for the kitchen, bathroom etc. Eg. Lunchbox containers, food storage bags, toothbrush holders. Do you have any recommendations of places I can find that kind of stuff? Thanks!

Try Shopee?

I was going to say Daiso for really cheap items that you never knew you “needed” LOL.

You can waste a lot of money there, lol.

Any particular style that you prefer? Eg minimalist, colorful, etc.

+1

I don't know where you live, but you don't have to go to Singapore to shop at Daiso.
I know of a few Daisos right here in Southern California.

Cool stuff, cheap.
And I agree that much of it is clever useful stuff you never know you needed.
I don't recall another store in which I felt compelled to slowly browse every aisle ... slowly!
It almost feels like a window into smart non-American countries, or the experience of watching certain foreign films.

Years ago much of Daiso's merchandise was from Japan.
Though Japan seems to remain their theme, much of what they sell has since been replaced by copycat merchandise made in China.
Again, follow the money.
Just saying.

Thank you, I will find a Daiso and check it out!

Besides Daiso's thousands of stores throughout the world, there is also www.daiso.com

Tokyu hands (particularly the one in orchard central) is also full of this kind of stuff.

I would argue you don't need this kind of stuff, who needs an advacado peeler or a banana peeler? But if you want endless shelves of knick knacks you never even new existed then definitely tokyu hands and daiso (and to a lesser extent Don Don donki).

Thank you, I'm heading to orchard tomorrow!

I would argue that too, but I have family members who love this kind of stuff so I just do what I'm told...

Try Tangs and Takashimaya if you are going to Orchard. Their kitchen ware section should be pretty comprehensive. Will include gadgets from Japan and Western brands.

Muji at Paragon or Ion will make a minimalist happy. Stuff are good quality.

Nitori at Heeren for more Japanese stuff:

If you go to the Marina Square area, the Daiso at Marina Square is bigger. The Ion Daiso outlet is quite small. I personally love Daiso but not quite for stuff I expect to last (in line with the low price).

I have a sister in law who loves kitchen appliances so I completely get what you mean. I'll likely end up doing something similar next week as I need to begin to pick up Christmas presents.

Did you end up finding what you were looking for?
