Where to buy diamonds in Canada

Just wondering if anybody can refer me to good locations in Montreal, or in the vicinity, where I can start my search for a loose diamond. I realize that the prices are cheaper online in the US, however, I''m not sure it''s still a bargain once they go through our customs.
This is about what I''m looking for:
- Color: H
- Clarity: VS2
- Cut: Very Good or better
- Size: 0.70-0.80 range
- Polish: Very Good
- Symmetry: Very Good

I''m planning to mount it on a white gold cathedral type ring.

I would greatly appreciate your comments/suggestions?

Without a doubt I would contact IGS in the Toronto vicinity. They also have a US operation called USACerted. However, since they are based in Toronto, you would pay no customs. I just bought a diamond through them and found them to be knowledgeable, patient, and the cheapest. No problems whatsoever!! Contact them 800-252-1476. I dealt with Julie and she is excellent!

As for your ring, I was also thinking of white gold but decided to go platinum. Overall, I think it wears better. With the $$ you save buying through IGS, you'll be able to spend a few extra for platinum.

You can easily find that in our beautiful city of Montreal.
However, be aware that Sarin reports are very very difficult to find.
Only 2 companies have the machine in our city (Birks & another dealer).

You can't have access to those if you're not buying from them.
However you can find GIA cert stones and get them appraised locally.

usacertdiamond... They are brokers so they have a BIG selection.
It's up to you.

A RB H VS2 .75 would run around 3900CDN without 15% tax & 10% excise
tax (that we have only in Canada).
