Hi Everyone,

My wife turns 30 in June and I would like to get her some diamond earrings. (I am excited)

Where do you recommend I look to buy? I am not opposed to buying online from a reputable company. My first reaction is to use ShaneCo (I live in California) but I don't know what the marketplace looks like.

I am looking for round cut, and my budget is around $5,000-6,000. My wife is 5'7, slender, with small earlobes.

As I understand it, cut, color, and clarity might not matter quite as much for diamond rounds for earrings since they will not be inspected super close. I appreciate your advice in advance, and thank you for being awesome!

Color and clarity can have a little wiggle room for earrings, but cut is what makes a stone sparkle, so you don't want to compromise too much there. The feedback here sort of varies: For color, H-I seems the most popular for studs, with some people going further down to J. For clarity, SI1, maybe SI2 if you have confirmation that the stone is eye clean.

For your budget, you could get a very nice pair of 1.2 carat total weight or 1.4 carat total weight, these are I, but they have H options also. These are ideal cut diamonds, so they will sparkle like crazy.:
1.2: https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-di...etails.aspx?Diamond1=3802005&Diamond2=3816345
1.4: https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-di...etails.aspx?Diamond1=3809117&Diamond2=3809118

You will also need to decide on a setting. What color gold (white, yellow or rose)? What style? Screw back, friction or la pousette? This thread has a lot of different people's studs, you might get an idea of styles and sizes here: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/show-me-your-diamond-studs.51981/

One final thing you might want to consider is if your wife will ever want to upgrade. There are some places that have really good upgrade policies (the place I linked above does).

If you want max impact for the money and don't mind not having perfect cuts call IDJ they are wizards at finding great stones at all price levels tell them you are from Pricescope. Link;

Ditto what Arkieb said!

Thank you guys so much.

GO GIANTS!!!! WHOO HOO

Keep in mind most vendors are unavailable today and tomorrow because of Passover and return on Thursday.

Recommend you call Leslie at BGD.
She can do a great job matching pairs

Another vote for whiteflash! Such an awesome company! I really appreciate how they alter their prices to reflect the market. I have watched several of their stones get adjusted down while other vendors keep theirs as is and let them sit. Great up grade policy too.

Would definitely trust Whiteflash, Brian Gavin Diamonds, and ID jewelry with this project. I'm not sure about IDJ but Whiteflash and Brian Gavin Diamonds also have upgrade policies you may want to review in case she ever wants to go bigger. ;)
