Hi I am new to the forum.

I recently purchased a diamond for an engagement ring from GOG and thus far have been extremely satisfied with their friendly service. However, I am struggling on deciding where to buy my setting from. My girlfriend likes two settings one from tacori (2510) and another a verragio (eng-0265).

I think she is leaning to the tacori. I recently searched for tacori on PS and found that there seemed to be a number of quality control issues. For that reason I thought maybe I should just get the diamond from GOG and go to a B&M (ie Jared''s) where you can essentially buy a warranty/protection plan for the ring. But then I searched for Jared on PS and there seems to be a number of issues there too.

So I guess my question to the forum is there a place where I can buy a tacori worry free?

Also are there any opinions of tacori vs. Verragio?

Thanks,

Are you able to get a setting from GOG? The reason I ask is because if your engagement ring is insured, any damage will be covered. A B&M warranty is not a sure fire away to avoid any hassles as often times, depending on who you are dealing with, you will be "hassled" about setting and they may find loopholes to avoid repairing your setting. Insurance is your safest bet to avoid this type of thing.

If you are not certain about GOG, Pearlman''s Jewelers has a large selection of designers to choose from ... You may find something there.

Wishing you luck on your search!

GOG carries both those designers. I''d get the whole package there, personally.

I agree. i would however research and see if you can find prices on the settings lower and see if GOG will pricematch. I recently received a quote for a setting and it was priced $800 more at GOG than my local store. for that price difference, i''d pay the local store for the setting and the setting fee and have the convenience of having a local jeweler to handle problems should they arise.
