If you find out the years that those cuts were popular ... and the find out which main diamond mines were in use WHEN ... maybe you can get some idea.
If you''re worried about blood diamonds -- I believe that''s a much more recent phenomenon.
There are some NEW ''old cut'' stones on the market though -- a very, very few.

From the 1870s through the 1920s, virtually all diamonds on the market came from South Africa or Namibia.
