I have come up with a budget of $7,500, I think in the 1-1.25 Karat range but I'm not sure what my best option would be for balancing cut, clarity, and color. I have looked at blue nile and a couple of other sites but was just a bit overwhelmed so I was hoping you all could help me get started on the right track and give me some good recommendations for a loose diamond for an engagement ring. Thanks for your help!!

That is a nice budget and can land you right in the H SI1 range, which is good!

or a little smaller and get 1.06 ct, H VS2

or 1.10 ct, I VS2

or 1.0 ct, G SI1

I'd probably recommend the first stone since it is one of the 2 largest and a color grade higher than the I VS2 stone.
