Where do I begin? Please help!

I inherited a solitaire ring. I want to sell it asap and get a decent price. How do I go about it? Should I have it unmounted and get a GIA or AGS cert first? Which one is more comprehensive cert so that I don''t have to get a Sarin report? The ring is probably just under 1 carat. I live in Orange County, CA. Where can I sell this ring? Is Ebay a good place to start or is there someplace else locally where I can get a fair price? Please advise! Thanks.

Don't get your hopes up on making tons of money. Reselling jewelry is a very unprofitable venture for consumers.
