I have seen many lovely white looking J and K stones, where did you find them?

Hi!
I live in Canada now and I bought my 1.53 J Radiant from a vendor in the diamond district in Toronto.
I cannot say enough how wonderful, professional, and knowledgable he is.
If you live near Toronto, I would be glad to share the name of the shope with you, otherwise, any major city (NyC or Chicago, etc) has a diamond district you can shop in!
It''s like a dream having so many diamonds all around you!

Mine is from Whiteflash''s expert selection.

I got mine from WhiteFlash''s ES as well.

Mine''s from GoodOldGold (1.22 K SI1) - I love it!

Sophie - I''m living in Toronto. Where did you get your diamond from? Not currently in the market for another, but I always like to know good places to buy from!

Hi Autumngems!

I bought my .72 J SI1 from Jonathan at Good Old Gold.

An awesome revelation....you too can find happiness with a J-K diamond!

I knew a wholesale diamond vendor in the nineties who had a terrific diamond business selling mostly
J-K VS diamonds (and they were beautiful). Beauty is truly in the eyes of the beholder.

Mine''s from an independent jeweler in Chicago. GIA cert, J color, SI1 clarity, 1.5 c.

drk,
I got it from Josephine''s Jewlery in the diamond exchange. The owner''s name is Aziz. We met him while we were looking in the window after they were closed. He was walking out and stopped to talk to us for a few minutes. We went back to him the next day and came to an agreement price for trading in my stone (which I didn''t get from him) and getting a new one from him. We felt we got a good deal.
We paid $6000 for a 1.53 J SI2 radiant and a new superb setting, as my setting couldn''t accomidate the new stone!!!

I will definately go back to him for other stuff, I am just said I am 2 1/2 hrs away! (Belleville area).

You should stop in and see what he''s got, even though you "aren''t looking".... We''re always ''looking'' aren''t we???

I got my .91 J VS1 from Superbcert. I love it. It looks so white and sparkly, no one ever guesses it''s a J. i would buy K earrings.

what a difference cut makes, right patty?

i would always recommend that people compare the different ''color'' stones in person, but always with the caveat that you compare apples to apples. there is no comparison between a well cut ''j'' and a crapper ''j''. the well cut stone will face up just as white as the colorless stones and those crappers will look as yellow as...well...you know how bad they look.

all hail the well cut j''s!

Amen to that!

Yes, note that the stone MUST be well cut.

I found this on craigslist:

engagement-wedding diamond ring 14kt gold center stone is 1.30ct SI-1 COLOR K

This K colored diamond looks NOTHING like my K color, ideal cut diamond!

Another picture of it. Perhaps it would have more potential if it were recut and put in a different setting. Maybe a good cleaning would help it too.

Thanks, I want to set my diamond when I get it in white gold but I am told by many that you can't do that with a J or K because it will show the tint.

Why don''t you check out Mara''s thread on J stones in platinum. Link

I can see the warmth of my K in some lighting, but 95% of the time it looks very white! My setting is 14k White gold.

I got my J from GOG too. As long as the cut is good on your diamond, white gold should not be a problem. I have mine in a platinum ring with 2 round G sidestones and you cannot tell it is a J. Good luck with your ring and be sure and post pics!!!

An ideal cut ROUND diamond will mask the color better for a J or K stone. What shape do you prefer?

Got my J from Winfield''s. I JUST got back from putting in an overnight package back to them to have it set.

Stats and pics are here

I want to thank everyone for replying, I have sent a request to several of the people you suggested and I hope to be getting some lists to look over soon. I am really excited.
