Hello,

All that I know for sure that my girlfriend wants for her ring is a scalloped band with an oval diamond. But there seem to be few options out there when it comes to a scalloped vintage band. Would any of you have recommendations on where I could find some for a decent price?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Do you have any pictures so we might have a better idea of what she wants? Does she have a pinterst page with pictures by any chance?

Edit
Anything like any of the following?

It would be something like the below photos

This is just my opinion, but this is the best scalloped band ring in the biz:

These are custom made, so can be easily made for an oval. Would also have beautiful prong work - very dainty and would complement the stone, rather than obscure it.

That is beautiful, gonna go ahead and assume that might be out of my price range though lol. Do you happen to know the price point on that?

VC's Laurel is very pretty (and yes, very expensive) but FWIW personally I wouldn't describe the band as being scalloped -- even VC calls it "wave-like" -- to my eyes, the VC Laurel pattern is more different than similar to the 3 inspiration pics posted by OP. For me personally, if I was looking for a scalloped band, the VC Laurel would not qualify .... YMMV

Hi @rjl5108 -

Victor's settings aren't as expensive as you might think. I'm going to guess no more than 3k, but the craftsmanship is more than worth it. And if you want to save some dollars, you can always ask him to shorten the amount with diamonds set in it.

Worth a phone call, tho - he's a lovely man and certainly won't poo-poo a general inquiry.

Gabriel and Co make a few. IDJ sells Gabriel and co (at a little cheaper price point I believe)

Edit...and there is always David Klass (custom at a reasonable price) if you are looking to get closer to what you posted.

What is the budget for the setting (to save us time)?

I think something like gabriel and co is likely a good option, and ID Jewelry is amazing for sticking in budget. How much can you spend on the setting, and what size/color/price for the center stone? You'll save time and effort if you can get both stone and setting from the same place

Well I could use some advice on that as well, originally I wanted to try to save on the setting ~1,000 to spend more on a diamond. She wants a Oval diamond other than that i don't have specifics. I would like to keep the total cost under 5K.

Thanks for all the advice so far guys!

How do you feel about this setting? I think its closest to what you posted. If you like it I would call IDJ and get a quote on it because their prices are
usually better than what Gab and co post.

If you want to go with David Klass I would suspect you are in the $1500 price range or so (just my guess from getting a couple of quotes from them
and having one ring made by them).

I noticed IDJ also has these...would need to ask if they take ovals.

These are almost exactly what I was looking for. Do you know how pricey IDJ is before I place a call? Is it on the higher end?

IDJ is very competitive! IDJ will give you the best Gabriel price they can. And they’ll make sure the setting is perfect. They inspect before shipping. We bought a sapphire diamond Gabriel band from IDJ last summer and Yukitiel made sure it was perfect. It’s gorgeous. And it was priced less than other jewelers I checked. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy from them again.

IDJ is usually budget-friendly. I have a 1.4 ctw 7 stone diamond ring from IDJ.
(actually its the picture in my avatar)

Nope, they are typically budget friendly. I bet they can do stone + setting under 5K
