Is there a name for these ribbon belts/headbands w/ brooch?

I''m trying to either find a place that sells them or figure out how to make one myself (doesn''t look like it''d be that hard...).

Can anyone assist?

I''d check Etsy.com

Just pinch the ribbon together and put the brooch through the layers to make it stay scrunched together. For the back/clasp area you could hem the ribbon and add hooks and eyes.

When looking for it, you might try "jeweled belt".

Etsy is a good resource. You could also go to a place that sells broaches and go to a fabric store and make your own. Also, try asking your dress shop.

Thanks, guys.

I tried Etsy, but couldn''t find anything close! I tried searching for "ribbon belt," "satin belt," "ribbon headband," "ribbon brooch," and pretty much every other combination I could think of, but didn''t come up with anything

Maybe my best approach is to just look for brooches and ribbons separately then just pin the brooch onto the ribbon?

The one in the picture, though, it looks like the ribbon is somehow strung through the brooch, which I''m thinking might also prevent it from sagging under the weight....

I found these but brace yourself, it''s pricey.

Also, etsy.com has something called alchemy. You post a picture of what you want, and describe it, and say what you''re willing to pay. Then, sellers "bid" on making it for you. It''s pretty awesome!

Hey dress twin!
Are you wearing this as a belt or a head band?
I am currently trying to find a vintagey jeweled headpiece to wear with no luck so far! Keep me posted!

If you''re using it as a belt you could pin the brooch through both the ribbon and the dress to prevent the brooch from sagging. You should be able to find a brooch at a vintage shop or online and then just buy ribbon at a craft store. If you''re using it as a headband you''d probably want to buy a brooch in person so you make sure to get a light one so it doesn''t sag or flip over.

Hmm...I think the David''s Bridal one is close, but also a bit wider than what I was going for. Still, might be worth investigating.

HaloAngel Hey dress twin! How''s your planning been coming along? To answer your question, at first I thought it''d be cool to wear one as a headband. But then when I saw it as a belt on the bm dresses, I really liked that, too, and thought it added a nice touch to an otherwise kind of plain dress.

(Some might wonder why I didn''t just examine the belt more closely while I was at the store....good question, and I wish I had. But I was more focused on the dresses at the time and also didn''t realize I''d have such a hard time finding it online...This was also a store in Dallas where we were last weekend visiting family, so unfortunately I can''t just pop in again

I think, though, that I may just try the DIY option and find a nice, inexpensive brooch and buy some ribbon and see if I can replicate it. And I agree, pinning it to the ribbon AND dress is probably going to be the best way of securing it.

Thanks everyone!

Ribbon can be found at your local fabric store. If you have trouble finding the right width, just wrap it around your waist to help judge. I found a few nice brooches on ebay for under $15-20 each with shipping that I bought for the wedding. This one is pretty:

i bet if you pierced the ribbon and then went back and forth it would help with the weight...kind of "sew" the stick pin through the ribbon if that makeds any sense. If you are looking for this idea for a headband this site is awesome...Very pricey but they look great. These headbands are always on gossip girl!.

Oh my gosh, don''t pay too much for the belt!Go to the fabric store, select the ribbon of your choice, and go to the custom jewelery store and buy a broach. If you want to scrunch up the ribbon, it''s honestly 1 minute with a needle. It''s a definite DIY job. Good luck!
