So, where and for how long?

And if you feel like elaborating, how did you choose the location(s)?

Um. Not engaged and won''t be for at least another year, but we''ll be heading to NYC unless something drastic happens. It''s my favorite place to be and BF has never been there. So I want to take him and show him my favorite city.

Plus, Europe was WAY out of the budget. But we still plan on going there someday! (When we can comfortably afford it)

we''re going to italy for two weeks because i''m ridiculously lucky and the FI was as obsessed with the idea as i was, so he''s willing to splurge! we''ll be landing in milan, then going to lake como, then venice, next florence, and finally rome. neither of us has ever been to europe, so we''re both silly excited about it!!!!!!

we''re also doing italy for two weeks! we''re doing rome, florence, a small town in tuscany, and then positano (on the southern coast). We wanted to go somewhere in Europe, where both of us had never been, and we basically wanted to go somewhere wtih good food and wine :)

Oooh we went to Italy for the first time last year (just did Venice, Florence, and Rome) and it was fabulous! Can''t wait to go back and spend more time there! Positano looks beautiful!

We are going to French Polynesia - four nights in Moorea and 5 nights in Bora Bora. It is way to much $$$ but I basically fell in love with the pics and we decided it was worth the splurge.

We just got engaged, but we''ve talked about it in the past and we want something tropical. We''re thinking either Tahiti or St. Lucia. We''ve been around Europe together and want to do something new for both of us.

Doodle - Lake Como looks so gorgeous! Say hi to george for me! ;)

I''m lobbying for S. Africa for 2 wks. Wish me luck ladies :)

Please go here!!! It is my favorite place on earth and you will not be disappointed!! FI and I just went this past winter. I miss it so much

We are flying to the Bahamas and staying at Atlantis in Nassau for 2 nights, then flying to the small island of Great Exuma and staying in a villa for 3 nights. Can''t wait!!!!!

we are getting married in South Africa and our honeymoon will be 1 week on Mauritius.

we were planning on going to the Maldives this year but as we got engaged we have to save up our money so it will be the paradise island of Mauritius instead. hopefully we''ll go to the Maldives for an anniversary.

Yeah, a dear, dear friend's family owns a vineyard in Stellenbosch, so I think I can always play that card. FI wants to explore all ideas, so we'll see. :)

Doodle & PolkaDot, LOVED Italy! So romantic & so DELICIOUS!

Indecisive, FSIL went to Indonesia and had an incredible time. The culture is so rich there, you won't be disappointed!

SunnyGirl, Totally know what you mean about hearting F. Polynesia! I do too!!!

noelwr, I wanted to try to swing a side trip to the Maldives if we could but we'll see. FI loves hanging on the beach. :)

We''re going on a 5-night cruise to Key West, Belize and Cozumel. We chose the cruise, because we want to be out of Blackberry range for a good portion of the honeymoon; we want to have our days planned out for us with no effort on our part; we are taking a 2-week first anniversary/30th bday trip to Hawaii next year and didn''t want to blow that budget; none of the ports are super significant to us, so even in the event of storms or if the ports become unavailable, we would have no qualms about just staying on the ship; we booked a year in advance and were able to get a really good rate on a suite; etc. etc.!

I love cruising and my fiance has never been on one - he''s cheesy and fun like me, so I know we will have a great time. I am really looking forward to it!

We''re planning Maui for 7-10 days. In Maui, we figure we can spend 50% of our time just lounging on the beach and neither of us will feel a speck of guilt about it. There are plenty of adventures we can take to keep us from being bored, and really just the sheer beauty/romance of the place attracted us. Both of us want to go tour Europe eventually (never been there), but we wanted to save that for a trip when we''d be more willing to commit all of our time to seeing/experiencing everything. We both have a tendency to get cranky when we''re tired or frustrated, FI gets even more so when he''s out of his element/nervous (not understanding the language would definitely count), and we really didn''t want our memories of our honeymoon to be us bickering over how to best be tourists.

We are going to Breckenridge to go skiing for about a week ( a week of skiing is about all I can handle). We loved it so much when we went for my birthday last year. Plus, we always do a beach vacation early in summer, so we didn''t want to do the same thing that we do every year. We were going to try for Whistler, but I am a novice at skiing and need more practice before going there. Also, we wanted to wait until the USD got stronger so we wouldn''t be paying so much for the HM.

We''re heading to Ocho Rios, Jamaica for 8 days, 7 nights....hopefully, our phones won''t work

I ditto this! I have been to Africa twice, one time was South Africa, and I just fell in love. My BF went when he was 11 but we have decided to do it again for our honeymoon. We''ll probably make it a longer trip though and do 2 weeks safari, 4 days at the beach, and another 4 or 5 days in wine country. We even threw around the idea of climbing Kilmanjaro in the beginning, but we''ll have to see about that...

Mrs Polka dot... where did you go??

we are doing italy for 2 weeks as well!! First Venice, then Florence, Tuscany (Siena), last stop Rome. Can''t wait!!! Only about 6 weeks to the big day

S. Africa does sound great!

We are going to Bali, Indonesia for 8 nights and we will spend 1 night in Hong Kong en route! This will be FI first trip out of the country ans we are so excited! We are staying in the mountains first (http://www.theviceroybali.com/html/en/index.html) and then at the beach (http://www.thesamayabali.com/)!
We;re going to Bali too!!! We are doing 8 nights at the Intercontinental Bali in Jimbaran Bay, and 4 nights at the Alila Ubud. Then we are staying in Hong Kong for 2 nights on the way home. I can''t wait!

I still have to break it to work that I''m taking this much time off. Oops. What is it they say about it being easier to ask for forgiveness than it is for permission?

How we chose - well we originally were looking at the islands (St. Lucia, Aruba etc) and just felt like we wanted something a bit more different for our honeymoon - we can go to the islands whenever for a holiday in a 4 or 5 hour flight, so we had hoped that for the money, we could do something more exotic.

The Maldives and Tahiti were out for financial reasons, and then our travel agent suggested Bali. We are going for the same price as 1.5 - 2 weeks in St. Lucia and we are flying halfway around the world! We both wanted a balance between culture/exploration and beauty/relaxation and Bali seemed like a perfect fit!

Good luck in picking yours Musey!

We are going to St. Lucia for a week.

Our honeymoon plans have changed several times. First, we wanted to go to Italy but we realized it is far too hot to really enjoy Italy in July. Then FI wanted Patagonia, I said no. Then we were thinking about the Bahamas, then Ireland, and now we''re staying in the states and going to California, which is what my parents did.

Here''s our tentative itinerary--12 nights in California

San Diego – 2 nights
Drive north along the coast to Ventura (about 3 hours)
Ventura – 2 nights
Visit Channel Islands Nat’l Park (http://www.nps.gov/chis/index.htm)
Island Packers (http://www.islandpackers.com/index.html) offers trips to Santa Cruz island from Ventura to The Marine Sanctuary to see the Blue Humpback Whales and to the “Painted Cave.”
Leave Ventura and drive north along the coast. Stop on the way to see the Hearst Castle (http://www.hearstcastle.org/)
Visit the Elephant Seal Rookery: http://www.elephantseal.org/
Stop at the National Steinbeck Center: http://www.steinbeck.org/MainFrame.html
Spend one night at the Madonna Inn in San Luis Obispo?

Drive through Big Sur on our way to Carmel (about a 4 hour drive total)
Carmel: 2 nights
Stay in Carmel: Westin Mission Hills
Leave Carmel and continue north to San Francisco.

San Francisco (4 nights)

Napa (2 nights)

I''m really excited about this itinerary--hopefully we''ll decide to keep it!

Costa Rica, probably for two weeks!

Got a year to go, so plenty of time to plan. We picked it since we wanted to go somewhere we could get some good diving, and also wanted proximity to rainforest (my FI LOVES forests!). Plus, we''ve had a lot of people recommend it to us, and we''ve heard we can splurge on the cheap there.

Can''t get excited about it yet, but I know it''s going to be fun!

We''re going to eastern Canada...I think it''ll be really pretty in the fall!

We''re taking a cruise from Boston that stops at Bar Harbor, St. John (new brunswick), Halifax (nova scotia), Sydney (nova scotia) and Cape Breton Island. It''s 1 week long.

good question!

who knows anymore...

we had chosen belize because it was relatively close (he hates flying and i get sick on long trips) and it had the beaches plus all the adventure stuff that we wanted to do like the mayan ruines, cave tubing, jungle and snorkeling (AWESOME snorkeling).

We''re going to Lyme Regis on the Dorset coast in the UK for 4 days after the wedding and then our real honeymoon is Sri Lanka for 2 weeks in October. I''m almost more excited about the honeymoon than the wedding!

Anyone going to Lake Como - it is absolutely fabulous. I lived there for 2 years and loved it. I took FI there for a holiday a couple of years ago and it''s his favourite place in Italy.

I''d quite like to retire there eventually!

Hey Pandora! I remember a while back you offered me help planning our elopement to Lake Como... No Plans are set in stone yet, but we are thinking Argentina now. Como is somewhere he has been before, and given the exchange rate it was going to be a pretty pricey trip. Right now the tenative plan is to wait til our house is done in Argentina and get married there. We thought it would be a good way to break in the new house and make it special place for us.
But Lake Como is def in the future, I am dying to see it! And I will surely ask you for suggestions before we go!

We''re going to Costa Rica for three weeks and then New York for about eight days. Surfgirl helped me pick Costa Rica-so I''m thankful to her for that

We''re getting married at a place that''s kind of a bed and breakfast spot with a gazebo and wedding chapel. We''re staying for 5 days and I''m so excited I can hardly breathe. Here''s the spot in case you want to take a look.

We're going to QC for a week. As you may know, that wasn't the original desintation. In order to save money, we changed our plans, and I'm really glad we did. We went to QC once, for NYE a few years ago (our first mini vacation a few months after we began dating), and we knew we wanted to return someday. We're glad to be going during the warmer summer months this time around. It's COLD up there in the winter! QC has become a meaningful place to us, so we're excited to be going back.
