DOWN.
You are almost at 10,000! Keep up with the questions!

There are more boys than girls in my house but the toilet seat is down!

Always down. Not negotiable.

I like to keep it down. First of all because I hate the look of ''open'' toilets and secondly it keeps my dog from drinking out of the bowl.

We like to try to keep them down with the lid closed as well. However, now that I''m pregnant and I''m going MUCH more frequently, the lid has been up with the seat down. DH is very well trained to not just leave the seat up, and I love him for that!

Lid and seat down all the time when not in use. My cat likes to swim.

Lid & seat are down. Don''t like how it looks and plus things can fall in.

Down and closed. If open, you can accidentally drop something in it. And who wants to go fishing around in there?

A nurse once told me that if you do not close the lid before flushing, you will have airborne particles that you don''t want airborne!

Depends on who used it last.

Down. DH always makes sure they're down.... the only time I find them up in my house is if we've had friends over that don't remember to put it back.

Well, I live alone, so the seat is never up, but I almost always put the lid down. I just think it looks prettier that way.

Down. DH was trained well by his mother.

Down! Just looks nicer.
I have one toilet that all you have to do is lightly tap the seat and lid, and they go down on their own,
cool huh! (Kohler makes it, auto close) Now I want every toilet (5) in the house like that

DF, your questions just make my day! Gives me something serious to ponder all day long, (lol )
and something to look forward to the next day, tee hee.

Funny.
Never really ''got'' the whole toilet seat up argument... until I fell into the bowl in the middle of the night, in the dark... oh, okay, geddit!
Now toilet seat is up when hubby goes, lid closed whenever the rest of us do. I''m training my little boy right from the start!

My kids have learned to close the whole lot whenever they flush, for hygiene reasons... think sea spray and extrapolate

definitely down. D knows better than to leave it up!

Home: Down. FI is great like that!

Work: I will often find it up thanks to the two older gentlemen I work with.

They''re great guys but their bathroom etiquette stinks! Literally

Seat down... check!
Lid down...check!

Doggy go drink the water out of your bowl now!

Ah, this is a lovely question, DF. Seat and lid down - our cats are delightfully stupid and have tried to tempt fate before while walking around the edge.

I will say that I''ve considered revising this policy when I''ve had the flu - getting that lid flipped up seems to take a lot, lot longer than normal when chicken soup is on its way back up.

Happy with that answer?

DOWN! After listening to my screaming after I fell in a couple of times late at night right after we moved in together, DH now knows better!

What a stupid question. Why would it ever be up?
