I''ve always been a fan of male/female duets for first dance songs. FI and I are currently trying to decide between Spend My Life With You by Eric Benet and Tamia and At Last, but the original version by Etta James (not a duet obviously, but after dating for almost 10 years it seems like the perfect choice, not to mention the fact the lyrics are beautiful and the song is a classic).

The original version of At Last is really lovely. As much as I love Beyonce, Etta James really does a great job on that too.

We are thinking of using either Thank You, by Led Zeppelin. Not too conventional but he wrote it for his wife. The other option is Is This Love by Bob Marley. My friends are using I''m Yours by Jason Mraz.

Well, we were going to do "Thank You" by Led Zepplin, but for some reason it did not feel like"us".... so we just decided on doing "Love Song" by 311, previously done by the cure.

We really wanted a song that you could hear just listening to the radio and bring you back to that moment. It was also important to me that FI really liked the song, not just liked it because it made me happy.

It is a tough choice to make!

I really have to echo Musey''s sentiment - choose what you and your FI like. Unless it''s a song where everyone already knows the words, I think the actual lyrics can matter very little. Whatever makes you feel beautiful, or in some way captures the feelings you have about your wedding day can be a perfect song for the first dance.

Ours was When She Dances by Joe Bonamassa - it was going to be Yours by Sara Gazarek, but a few weeks before the wedding, my DH played When She Dances for me and said that he''d been listening to it all week and thinking of us. I teared up at the chorus, so it was a done deal

Yours by Sara Gazarek lyrics - my BFF hated this song because it''s a little bleak, but it''s an absolutely beautiful ballad that''s worth a listen even if you''re not considering it on a wedding playlist . DH and I had spent a large part of our relationship long-distance and when we talked about marriage we often talked very openly about the obstacles that we knew we''d face, so we both actually liked the erie sadness paired with hopeful tenderness of the lyrics and music. In the end, we actually used this as our dance with our parents.
