Hahaha-I must have missed this one! Hmmm...dinner. I love Thai food so I eat that pretty often. Usually chicken basil but every now and then I''ll mix it up and get pad thai. (I''m wild like that!)

My fiance LOVES chicken and he loves to cook it so we eat herb-crusted chicken a lot. Usually with veggies and rice. And we''ve been having a lot of tilapia lately because I actually don''t like chicken that much (except for my chicken basil) so I am sick of it!

For special occasions I love a good steak, but anything seafood is definitely my favorite. And I really love raw oysters!

For rushed/lazy nights I have cereal and/or yogurt.

Anything that involves comfort food...I love for dinner
30.gif

That includes:

Mashed potatoes
Rice & Beans OR Arroz con Pollo (yummy!

)
Mac & Cheese
Pizza
Pasta
Fried chicken
Steak
Pancakes and bacon (bad me!
12.gif
)
Soup & Sandwiches

I also love going out for Thai, Indian, Italian, French...list goes on and on.

My favorite supper is mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese and breaded pork chops. For special occasions its Roast Beef, Ham or Turkey with all of the fixings, and for night to night it can be anything from soup and sandwiches, tacos, steak and potatoes, to pasta or once an a while a take away pizza! YUM! :)

I will have pizza all day, every day if Mr. Fiery allowed it.

Otherwise, Kobe''s (hibachi) is by far my favorite dinner meal. I always try to find an excuse to go.

carbs and wine, and i''m a happy girl!

How could I forget mac & cheese?? I love this stuff so much, my husband even included it in his wedding vows

I also LOOOOOOOOOOVE shabu shabu. Yum.

Man, I don''t think I could pick just one. I love all food! A few favorites:

Roast Chicken with Mashed Potatoes and Pan Gravy

We had this on Monday night. It was delicious. I have the best roast chicken recipe in the world. Forget engagement chicken--this stuff is unbelievable. I got it from the Thomas Keller (of French Laundry) cookbook. Seriously delicious. I NEVER eat chicken skin, and I will devour it when I make it like this. Plus, it has the added bonus that I can make homemade chicken broth from the carcass and use the leftover chicken for something else. I''ll get back to the chicken broth, but the leftover chicken does bring me to another favorite:

Chicken Enchiladas

I make my own enchilada sauce. It takes forever, but omg it is so worth it. Plus I usually make a bunch at a time so that I can freeze it and make chicken enchiladas whenever I make chicken. Also, if you make your own tortillas, they are soft enough to roll without tearing and you don''t need to slather them in oil, making it slightly less unhealthy. Yum!

Risotto

This is where the chicken broth comes in. I love risotto. Doesn''t even matter so much what''s in it. I usually do a mix of veggies but the homemade chicken broth really makes it. And good parmesan. So delicious.

Pepperoni Pizza with Ranch Dressing and Cholula Hot Sauce

Yes, I realize this is heartburn on a plate. Yes, I also realize that just reading that clogged my arteries. Doesn''t matter. This is my "I''m in a bad mood and all I want to do is eat junk food and drink a beer" food. Oh so delicious. This is the only reason I have ranch dressing in the refrigerator.

Salad with Candied Pecans (or Walnuts), Blue Cheese, and Pear.

Mmmmmmmmm...I suppose this is also a side dish, but I could eat this for dinner. California Pizza Kitchen used to have this on a pizza and now that they don''t I no longer eat there. Sad.

Pad Thai

So tasty.

Duck

I know that this is not so much a meal as a type of food, but I love duck in all forms. Anytime we go to a French restaurant, I almost always order duck. Yum. Or French Onion Soup. Mmmmm...

My Dad''s Grilled Steak

My dad makes the best steak. Seriously. Especially when he does it with a red wine reduction sauce and some blue cheese on top. Yum.

OK, so I could continue to talk about food for a long long time, but I need to get back to work. LOL. This is why I avoided this topic until now.

Work days: Take Out or whatever someone else cooks.

Special Occasion: Tasting Menu''s at 5 star restuarants, or a fabulous Sunday Brunch at the Ritz. Alternately, I''m ALWAYS up for Morton''s or Ruth''s Chris.

Busy Nights: Whatever delivers or has a drive thru.

Oh, I have soooo many favourites!! Where do I start? For late nights, a bowl of hot noodle soup with lots of yummy veggies and NO MSG. For special occasions, I LOOVEEE steaks (as rare as possible, please,
3.gif
), lobster and Alaskan king crab.

For snacking/ meals in a hurry, yummy freshly baked bread with French cheese or a fresh pasta with pesto sauce (home made/ my own).

For ordinary every meals, a nice roast chicken with roast or mashed potatoes with lots of parmesan cheese, beouf bourgouinon (homemade/ my own), mushroom risotto (my own with chicken stock I make myself, he he), cous cous with lamb tangine (again, my own hee heee
9.gif
), hubby's ymmy burgers and ribs ('THE* best), an authentic crispy Italian pizza with blue cheese and capsicum/ other veggie toppings with a nice mixed salad, Vietnamese pho (my own, again, he he), Vietnamese hot spicy beef noodles (again, my own)..... Oh ok, so I like my own food

.

Most importantly of all, though, the right company - whatever the occasion!

AND a good bottle of wine/ champagne.
I had a beautiful salad last night at this gorgeous new restaurant overlooking trees that seem to be hundreds years old. The salad was a mixed green with lots of mushrooms (I LOVE mushrooms) and truffle oil. OMG, it was TDF!! In fact, I like anything with truffles, that stuff is *AMAZING*.

And yeeessss, I LOVE fresh oysters!!

On the flip side, I was just thinking I don't much care for caviar. Does anyone else not like caviar?

Thanks for your reply, Storm.

I have to admit, I googled "manicotti" too. So, it's stuffed pasta. But does the stuffing vary according to personal preferences? It actually doesn't sound so bad (unlike "sewer pipes", LOL). I *love* pasta.

Oh incidentally, to answer the original Q, I like a nice spicy Thai curry too. Heck, I love most foods

You can stuff them with just about anything we usually use hamburger cheese chopped onions and spice.

All time favourite meal - DH''s cottage pie or homemade veg soup.

I''m at work today and have no way to get lunch until 3pm, so this thread is making me really hungry!! I''ll torture myself by writing down my favorites (you can tell how hungry I am by the length of this post)

For the typical week we''ll usually pick from the following:

mac & cheese with broccoli
fajitas with a veggie
chicken or pork (baked, sauteed, I try to mix it up) with a veggie and one of those rice side dish things (we like Goya because they seem to be a bit lower in salt than the others and they make a lot, which FI loves)
spaghetti (sauce out of a jar on busy nights)
chili and homemade cornbread
homemade pizza (usually more of a weekend thing) with whatever random things we feel like putting on it
what I call "pasta with white sauce" - usually rigatoni with brocolli, onions, garlic, and some kind of protein, typically chicken or scallops, in a white sauce (usually with gruyere cheese and parmesan); I could easily eat this for every meal and it''s easy to mix it up a little by adding different veggies or meats
curry of some sort - we''ve been trying all of the ready made sauces and sauce mix packets we can find, throw in some chicken, onion, and a veggie and serve over rice

For special occasions I love to make homemade pasta with different types of sauces (my fav is a spicy tomato with basil and cream), a whole roast chicken, braised ribs (beef or pork), risotto, or any kind of fish or seafood (mmm ... salmon and scallops ... )

For going out, I like just about anything, but no chain restaurants unless work is paying for it and I can''t find anything else. I definitely prefer places where I can get a good glass of wine, but a good glass of beer will also do. I''m not a big steakhouse person because I don''t really like eating a big chunk of red meat, but if the steak is incredible I''m there. And I can find something on pretty much any menu that I''ll like. I''m partial to Italian too, it can be comfort food and high end at the same time. I also love tasting menus at fantastic restaurants because I love to try a little of everything (if you eat dinner with me, it''s pretty much understood that I will try whatever you''re having
5.gif
)

And for really busy nights, I can''t just have something small because FI is a big eater and needs his full meal
20.gif
so we''ll get something from our favorite Chinese place or go to the buffet at the local specialty grocery store that offers a ton of different ethnic and comfort foods.

I work days and FI is a cook, so he works evenings. We have Sundays and Mondays to eat together, and he''ll cook one of the everyday meals.

Everday meals may include: a protein (chicken, pork, steak, Tilapia) with a vegetable ( steamed broccoli, green beans, or whatever looks good), and a starch, (usually baked potato, cous cous, or polenta)

FI will sometimes start a roast in our dutch oven with some carrots, onion and potato, or start a pot of Chili. It will be ready when I come home from work
18.gif

I''ll make beef or chicken tacos, one of the everyday meals, or heat up a can of soup if I''m lazy
