Hi Ladies! I''ve been lurking on PS for a while and recently stumbled onto LIW. My BF and I have been together for 2 years and he has told me that he''s been saving up for a ring. We''ve talked about my ring preferences and he was surprisingly accurate in his guesses at what I''d want for a ring.

Anyway, I LOVED the dream wedding dress thread and I''m curious to see what other ladies'' dream rings are.

My dream ring is...

DIAMOND:
- Round brilliant.
- Ideal cut. This is my most important C!
- 1.00 carat. I really want a full carat, but I''d be happy with something above a half carat because my finger size is only 2.5.
- Eye-clean clarity (SI1, maybe SI2). I''m not too picky about this C, as long as there aren''t major cracks and inclusions that take away from the diamond''s brilliance and durability. I''d probably be fine with a small visible inclusion too.
- Not noticeably visible yellow color (I-J, maybe K). I''m not picky about color either, as long as it looks white. I''ve also read that ideal cut RB''s reflect more white light.

SETTING:
- Solitaire.
- 14K White gold.
- Classic Tiffany setting OR Lotus setting on Hearts of Water Jewels.

What are your preferences, ladies? Of course, those who have already received their rings are welcome to post as well. Please include pics of your e-rings!

Originally my dream ring was around a 3ct fancy yellow asscher, now my current dream ring is around a 2ct (maybe 2.5ct for shrinkage!) pave crossover rb from David Yurman. We''ve discussed renewing our vows for our 5 year wedding anniversary and getting a new ring set then, not that I don''t love my ring now it''s just not my dream ring you know?

My current idea ring (subject to change based on what I actually get, which I''m sure will be my favorite no matter what!) is:

0.7+ carat round brilliant center stone
F-H clarity
VVS1-VS2 inclusions
Medium to Strong Blue Florescence

Set by James Allen in his platinum setting having trillion cut sapphire or emerald sidestones. SO PRETTY!!!

Luckily for me my dream ring is on my finger. I wouldn''t change it for anything as I love it just as it is

My dream ring is the Dragonfly on the Debeers web site. It''s like $90k, I''d never be able to get it but I love looking at it :)

So hard to choose! But DREAM ring as in not a reality right now would be a 3 carat round brilliant in either a Leon Mege setting with pave halo (possibly in rose gold) and a split shank (in platinum) or the Michael Barin double halo round brilliant pictured below... :)

My dream ring (which I'm almost 100% sure is what the boyfriend is going to get) is a design by Scott Kay.
I would like 1 carat or just a bit over but anything just under would be cool too.
As long as the stone is eye-clean then i'd be happy. I just want it to sparkle all the time :)

I'm actually helping a client design a ring with the elements of MY dream ring...well, it pretty much IS my dream ring! He wasn't sure how to put together the look he was going for, and his lady is more dresses and lace vs. jeans and t-shirts, so he wanted something very romantic and different from what everyone else has. He told me to put a ring together using all the elements I would want in my own ring(euro shank to prevent spin, hand engraving, two carat round center, halo, bead set sides, lots of milgrain, lots of diamonds, yellow gold filagree in the gallery, etc.). The only things he told me I had to include were a nod to "a square peg in a round hole," (So, I came up with a square halo for a round stone), and there had to be a specific heart design in the gallery that almost looks like angel's wings. I can't post the cad since I don't know if his gal is a member on PS.

I can tell you I am INSANELY envious of his girl's ring!!! That's the one bad thing about my job...I never get to see the pieces in person since Wink is in Boise and I'm in NJ. To make it worse, someone else is going to have my dream ring that I designed.

I would love to get to see that piece for just ten minutes.

This ring belongs to PSer JadeLeaves. It was done by Mark Morrell, and my dream ring will probably be based on this design.

How exciting!!

My dream ring is...

Ideal Cut RB diamond
Around 0.75ct (ring size is 3)
I/J colour... agree with SparklyRing, as long as it looks white!
Not bothered about clarity as long as its eye- clean
In a platinum solitaire setting either by Mark Morrell, Leon Mege or the Vatche Swan... It''s sooo hard to decide

I think that dream could become reality one day

I just want a classic Tiffany setting. My fingers are a little bigger, size 6.75 or 7, so ideally something around 2 carats would be awesome!!

Lol I certainly hope so! I''m sooo glad I found PS. I just cannot believe the prices that Mall stores charge for horrible ''diamond'' rings. Most of them look shocked beyond belief when I ask about cut, colour and clarity.

I''ve been away from this forum b/c of work overload, but my dream ring:

RB
~Cut: I''m not married to H&A, but I want something that''s AGS 0, or juuuuuust outside of it. Prefer a ~61.5% depth
~Clarity: Eye clean -- ideally, VS1 or VS2, but not ruling out SI1 or SI2
~Carat: Ideal is 1.5. Realistic ideal is 1.0-1.1. A shallower 0.95 with great light return that faces up like a 1 is cool, too.
~Color: Negotiable. An AGS/GIA-graded J would be A-OK. LOL

Setting (I can''t figure out how to upload pics into the Gallery, so forgive the two posts):

SO and I are going to look at the Vatche Swan next Sat (9/5 b/c we''re out of town this weekend)!!!

The MaeVona Westray is my all-time fave solitaire setting, but at $1650 for all WG?? No. We don''t have the $$$$ and I''m not compromising on the stone.

But ... sigh

Vintage inspired setting from SingleStone...gotta make this dream a reality soon!

Rock of Love - that ring is beautiful! I love the antique-ness of it! That''s probably right up there with my dream ring.

I do have my dream ring on my finger but that one is so nice!

If you have time after you''ve seen it please come back and post about it. There are no Vatche dealers in the UK so I have to rely on other Pricescoper''s lol
