I picked up this neat little ring this week because I liked the stone but I have zero clue what it is. The setting is an original rose gold Victorian setting. It's unmarked but tests for 14k. The stone is more refractive than a topaz but I don't see any birefringence. The stone is a brilliant cut on the top but a magna cut on the bottom. It is very blue in color but photographs blue lavender in incandescent light (it really doesn't look purple in person). It appears bluer under florescent light. It has a strong pink red flourescense under long wave uv light. The lavender disappears and the stone looks much more blue (but not topaz blue despite the photo) under led light. Best guesses? I know guessing is not preferred, but fun nonetheless, and I haven't decided if I want to send it off to GIA or not.
