oh Mochi I love the hydrangea pics. I broke down and bought 2 small shrubs and stuck them in urns on my secondary front entrance porch. I seriously doubt they will do well in that location - but I just had to have me some ''drangea''s !!!

Lost Sapphire, my Iris''s are a mess, they really need dividing. It''s getting hot and sticky here, so that kind of work I just ignore, tee hee!!

Bebe... It''s so addictting, isn''t it?? Please take pictures when you can. Did you get the pink ones or the blue ones? I''m going to put some epsom salt on one as a experiment just to see what happens. They really don''t like to be in a sunny place, here in Florida, anyways. Mine gets only partial morning sun, if that, very filtered.

Mochi, as always your pictures are just inspirational and I love the rain pictures - keep em coming. Now that I''ve caught up, I''d better get out of bed and head out to work. I''ll take the camera with me today and see what''s worth a photo!

Love the storry about the daffodils.

Did I tell you I''ve been playing around with my daylillies and hand pollinating them. I found a few with the little pods on them today. I can''t wait to try to grow them. I have been ordering daylilies from Maryott''s daylilly. It''s a wonderful place and they bonus flowers with your orders. Very healthy specimens.

I need to take a picture of my composting area and show you how it looks. I know it''s nothing like what you have...hehehe

If you want them blue, then you need to give them aluminium sulphate. Not sure what Epsom salts do, please report back!

OMG!! Gailey, that is a wonderful composter!! I have the double tumbler that I purchased a couple of years ago. I would rather have one like yours. I mostly put the horse poop on the ground, add a few leaves and veggies and cover it up with plastic and let the sun keep it warm, it makes the compost better than the tumbler.

I''m having a dense morning! Anyway, that looks very much like a buddleia to me. Also known as butterfly bush because butterflies love it. I used to have one in the UK. Not here sadly!

Mochi, I tried to do a search for your camera this morning, without success. I''m sure I''ve asked you before but can you tell me again.

My Olympus got dropped by Baby Gailey and only half the screen works. Fine for non-detailed work but not much good for detailed work. I need to get a new one - got so many new gems to show you all, never mind the flowers!

Sun is shining today and I am off to work shortly. I''ll take the camera with me today and see what I can snap. Not much in bloom yet though.

OK, I realise that not everyone thinks, like I do, that composting is garden ****, so here''s a little eye candy from a few years ago. I am about to start putting my annual containers together - two weeks of madness! So I might not be around much.

Last year I taught a course at the University of Calgary, and this picture was my title slide. It''s the view from my balcony. Now I do this for a living as opposed to a hobby I no longer have containers on my balcony!

I''ll see if I can find a one or two more that I''ve done.

I use a Nikon Coolpix, 10.0 megapixels. It''s a very easy camera to use.

This hanging basket is absolutely gorgeous!! Is this a moss lined wire basket? What are the trailing orange and yellow flowers?

I love all of your designs. They are very innovative. So much more than the usual annuals that we see year after year after year...yawn!

Yes, more than happy to come to Florida to garde! It''s got to beat the 90-115 frost free days we have in Calgary, sign me up!

The trailing orange flowers (not yellow, that''s just a trick of the light) are called Mimulus. Here''s a close-up.

I love my composter! I emptied the the finished compost and re-filled it again and it''s cooking up a storm!
