what year and type of car do you drive?

Jewelfreak ...so awesome!!!!!!!!

We are big car lovers...
Me: 2012 Audi A7 fully loaded
FI: 2009 Audi R8 twin turbo, his work car is a 2006 Honda fit, he loves both :)

DH and I own a 2011 Land Rover LR4 HSE and a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee! And the best part is....they're all paid off!

Me: 2011 VW Eos (red with tan leather interior, hard top convertible)
FI: 2009 Tahoe (black, black interior, tinted so much you can't see into it, monster exhaust system, Chevy symbols are black)

I lease my cars. FI had a '01 Nissan X-Terra that was literally paid off for 2 months (and he was going to drive it into the ground) when he got hit almost head on while waiting to make a left into his work parking lot. Person who hit him was texting :angryfire: The only reason it wasn't directly head on was because she realized at the last minute and swerved a little. Needless to say that the truck was totaled.

me: 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited SUV
him: 2005 Chevrolet Silverado long bed pickup

Me: a 2006 grey Saturn Ion. My previous car was a 1998 Saturn we drove to death--until it couldn't pass inspection due to emissions.
husband drives: 2010 Silver Toyota Carollo. We are not car people and bought the cars for convenience, not flash or style. We plan on driving these cars to death, also.

The idea of my daughter passing her driving test in 14 years time and being handed the keys to my 2007 Citroen C3 amuses me no end :naughty: . Am not into cars one bit so this would probably be the only reason I could think of to replace it - will be driving mine to death too.

Oh gosh, we both drive junky older cars that we'll drive into the ground! We prefer to buy used and buy them outright.

Me: 2001 Honda CR-V
Hub: 2001 Ford Contour

Me 03 Tahoe
Him 01 Dodge Ram, 05 GMC Sierra

Me: 2008 Toyota Yaris
SO: 2009 Scion xB

We're a Toyota family! I just love my fuel-efficient go-cart!

I have a 2004 Lexis RX330 (paid off), Dh has a 2010 Fold Flex (Company car). He gets a new car every 2 years, plus all maintenance and gas paid for. I get all my gas paid for. That is how I justify having 2 SUV's.

Me: 2007 Toyota Prius
Fi: 2008 Toyota Corolla

Our unintentional first date (two friends reconnecting after a few years):
Me: So, I got a new car last year!
Fi: Me too!
Me: I got a Toyota - Prius
Fi: I got a Toyota, too - a Corolla!
Me: That's funny - wasn't your last car a Honda Civic, black?
Fi: No, it was a silver Honda Civic, hatchback. You had a silver Civic, too, right?
Me: Yes - I called it Bullet!
Fi: My sister named mine Bullet!

A big thank you to Toyota and Honda for getting this outting on such a great start that it turned into the first of many dates with my super fiance! LOL!

My DH and I love cars. I just got a new one last weekend after having my 2003 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V for eight years. Our cars now:

Mine: 2009 Saturn Sky Redline (manual, little two seater convertible in red :) )
His: 2000 Chevy Camaro Z28 (manual, with T-Tops!)

Me: 2008 Honda CRV
and it's mine, not the bank's :appl:

DH: 2011 Honda Accord (DH's third Accord)
Me: 2011 Toyota Sienna (my third Sienna!)

Me: 2009 Lexus RX 350

Dh: 2010 Lexus LX 570

I love my car! One of my few joys in life is driving it.

used to own a 1980 450 SEL..Ooops,i meant to say a 1980 TANK :!:

Exactly what I pictured!

Me: 2010 Subaru Impreza hatchback in camilla red
Him: 2009 Subaru Impreza (Outback edition) hatchback in silver.

They're sporty, fit four adults comfortably, go like the dickens in snow (boxer engine, AWD), and get around 26 mph around town, 31 highway.

I used to have a 2008 Hyundai Tucson Limited Edition, black on black. I got rid of it because of escalating gas prices and its odd body shape. I've saved over $900 in gas this year by downsizing to the Subaru with better fuel economy.

Cool thread! I drive a nothing, with the help of a MetroCard and my two feet.
SO drives a '93 Toyota Tercel. (3rd car in 3 years, had a '92 Tercel, then a '93 Corolla, now back to Tercel)

My dream car would be the new Hyundai Sonata Hybrid or the Hybrid Lexus HS250 (my parents are leasing it now, and WOW is it cool. It's made with ecological plastics and is great on gas.)

I drive a 2004 Toyota Rav 4. DH drives a 2009 Toyota Matrix. We both had horrible experiences with American-made cars, so we are foreign brand all the way!

How do you like your Rav4? I really want that to be my next car but my husband thought it was a little small for him. He's tall and needs plenty of room up front, which he thought the Rav4 lacked. He says that about my Corolla, too. He drives a Prius, and it seems to fit him just fine. It might be a tad snug for him but overall, he's happy with it for now. I'm not sure that he's picked anything for his next car yet. We have a few years (hopefully) before we need to buy new cars.

Me: 2003 Toyota Sienna AWD minivan (kid and stuff hauler)
Him: 2009 Audi A4 Quattro (mid life crisis car :-) ) I'm afraid to drive it!

Before that I had a 1998 4-Runner and absolutely loved it, however it was really hard to fit three kids in it!

Me: 2001 Honda Prelude, 54k original miles, manual
Ours: 2011 Honda CR-V, automatic

He just traded in his 2007 VW Rabbit for the CR-V since both the Rabbit and the Prelude are 2 door. We decided we needed a family vehicle since there is a little one on the way! I will not give up my car. When it dies, I will replace the engine.

I was just forced to make my first purchase since 1994, as I had been driving a demo (as a manager of an auto dealership) for the last ten years.

I bought a 2011 Honda Accord. One of the special editions with leather seats and snazzy wheels - - only because the price was right. I was still able to get my employee discount.

DH still drives his 2001 Honda Civic.

We had nine years of zero car payments. *sigh* Ah,the good ol' days.

Me: 2009 Mazda 5
DH: 2010 Hyundai Elantra

I love my car so much I will probably drive it until it dies a sad death. DH hates his car so much he wants to light it aflame. But both cars hold the baby and have room for one more baby eventually, so we will be keeping them even if he cries every time he drives his

I have found Mazdas to be a great deal at purchase because they're always a few thousand less than comparable models made by the other major car makers, and they last and last and last, as long as they're well serviced and maintained. Please don't laugh, but my DH has a very hard time getting rid of *anything*, so we kept my little old Protege' for 18 yrs. Yup, 18! And when we sold it, because it was still in perfect condition, we got a fair price for it. Cetainly enough to buy me great new road hugging tires for my Tribute, tires for my husband's work truck and still have a small but nice chunk to throw into savings. I also have a 2003 Mazda Tribute ES that will be stepped down to the status of "second car" when I buy a new SUV next year. We'll have that Tribute for many mannnnny years to come though. It's a great mid sized SUV. You probably won't be able to kill your Mazda 5!

JF, it is beautiful!

I do not care about cars. My work is so close to my home and my days are long so honestly, I do not care. We bought two cars in 2005, a Toyota Corolla and a Honda Odyssey. My Toyota barely made 15 miles a day each way, so it is in a good condition, and my husband was driving his 30 miles each way, so his should look worse, but he took a very good care of it. Now we switched because of gas prices. I want to buy a Toyota Prius due to "green" mentality. Everyone tells me to buy a more expensive car "for representation" but I find it senseless to buy a Lexus and drive it 15 miles a day (now I am even closer to my work). When we travel, we usually take a plane.

Oh, and my son left his 2002 Toyota Corolla for me because his new apartment in RI has no parking lot. I once drove it when I left the headlights on in my car for two days when we were away and the battery got discharged.
