The seller has nothing else of interest listed, and has been very unhelpful so far. They’re overpriced but very close to what I have been looking for. What would you offer for them?

The metal looks rough. Is that an antique finish?

Egads, why do they never show the backside???? I hate that about some sellers.

They are very nice, but are they dirty in back or gray in color?
If you really like them, you can offer 75%. That what I do.

@Johnbt They are quite worn. Not unexpected for such a useful design.

They’re pretty beat up. Probably Edwardian at the oldest, possibly Deco. The gold content suggests English origin.

I’ve contacted the seller several times asking for photos, having to explain the concept of closed backs, to which the seller remains utterly puzzled... and still won’t bother to upload any pictures from the rear. I’m probably going to give up - which makes me so sad.

I hope this doesn't sound harsh but IMHO these remind me of the "antique" grey, poorly cut, dull diamonds that I see from sellers from India. There seemed to be a glut of them a few years back, all listed as antique rose cut diamonds, usually in silver or low carat gold. I think you are wise to give up on these.

You remember the ring I ordered from England? Well I had my reservations, poor pictures, had some concerns about the center and one of the side diamonds but bought it anyways because it was exactly what I was looking for. Turned out my concerns were valid.

All that to say that in this case the pictures aren't great, seller is not super helpful or responsive, usually that is a bad sign in itself. Often passing on something means something better is in the future!

Hmm, the one on the right is chipped at the 5, 6 oclock position.
georgian? Maybe. on eBay there is a huge quantity of repro Georgian and Victorian jewellery done in India. Nice enough for the right price but the quality is low. They could be repro.
id only consider them for under $500. Under $400 would be better.

One diamond looks very visibly damaged, this is my biggest concern and a dealbreaker besides the seemingly poor quality. I would continue looking especially if communication with the seller is no good either.

Thanks for the input and votes, everyone! If the seller were more forthcoming (or even slightly helpful), I might take a chance. But it has been like talking to a toddler. So, I’ll just keep looking.

Happy holidays!
