what would you change in your bathroom?

We live in a 100 year old farmhouse so our bathroom was added after the house was built and where is it at you ask...directly off the kitchen ok if I was dreaming I would build onto the house and move the bathroom completely...that way it would be in a different area and my kitchen would be hugh.....

We did however just remodeled it last year, it was stuck in 1980's hell....it does look much better, we replaced the tolit, floor, vanity and towel racks and fresh paint, we had to paint the mirror as it is very large and recessed and I couldnt find one that I liked and could afford, but there is till alot to be done with it, when the bathroom was put in they put up paneling on the walls instead of drywall..I would love to rip that out and drywall and it has a dropped ceiling in it, I would like to rip that out..there is 9 foot ceilings behind the dropped ceiling..maybe one day....

My only other bathroom is a half bath we put it in about 10 years ago and we put in a used vanity...the whole bathroom needs to be redone!

Argh. Our master bath needs to be gutted; it is an ode to the 1990's. Acres of icky beige tile; huge jacuzzi tub that only the cats use. We do have a large walk-in shower that I like and a long vanity but everything is just tired looking. I would do something like this but perhaps in a different color scheme. Definitely would have heated floors and towel warmers.

We live in an old house, too! Isn't it amazing what people cover up? WHY would you lower a 9ft ceiling? Our front room has the original exposed log walls and when we bought it (knowing it was a full blown reno/recovery) it had this terrible shellac crap coated over everything; it made the logs shiny. It had to be sandblasted off; what was someone thinking?

Just finished this project! Bathroom was from 1981. Ripped it down to the bare walls. I did a lot of looking at bathrooms in Pinterest to see what other people did. 12" stone tile on floor and shower, rain shower head, corner seat. Waiting for frameless easy to clean glass doors. Took out dormers with can lights and raised the ceiling a foot in the shower and over the sinks. Took out 72" double vanity and replaced it with two 30" vanities with marble tops so we each have our own space. New water saving Koehler toilet. Wainscoting on bottom half of walls and paint to match stone on top. LOTS of new modern light. New mirrors with shelves. Removed medicine cabinet. I feel like I have a spa now!

yea we discovered that most of our ceilings on the main floor is plywood..not drywall , but plywood..crazy...gosh knows what else we will discover as we remodel the house lol

I got one word for you Marcy: DIMMER!

We had a crazy bright light bar in our last house and when I would get up to pee in the middle of the night I was snow blind by the time I would feel my way back to bed. Installing that dimmer switch was the best thing I ever did!
