What vendors are good to contact about a pearl project?

I''m looking to do a project with pearls that my mom gave me. I''m looking to have a pair of earrings made that I could wear to my wedding. I also may want to shorten a necklace I have. Any recs on vendors that could do this and would be reasonably priced? I got a quote from a local jeweler to make the earrings (with white gold leverbacks and .10 ctw worth of tiny diamonds)for $412. I love this jeweler as he made my e-ring, but that just seems very high to me! Any help is much appreciated.

Hiya Megan! I contacted BGD to reset my pearl earrings into a pendant with some diamond melée; they do work with pearls, and am waiting for the quote. I also posted a while ago for recommendations, but didn''t get any responses. Sorry not to be of much help. Your planned earrings sound lovely, good luck with your projects. You could talk to Pearl Paradise or The Pearl Outlet for the earrings. To restring the necklace, there are many bead shops that will do it for you while you wait and for a very reasonable price. Many jewelry stores will send the necklace out and charge $5.00 per inch or more.

I know Sally from Heart of Water Jewels on Etsy just made a gorgeous pearl and diamond pendant for someone here using their stones. Sally does fantastic work, and her prices are very reasonable.
