what type of uv light causes fluorescence?

I have a diamond with medium blue fluorescence and would like to get a light that brings out the fluorescence(i.e. black light)
I have a woods lamp at work to detect fungal infections that glow. The color of the light is lavender, but the light makes anything that is white appear purple.
So is the Woods lamp not the right kind of uv light?

You're looking for a long wave fluorescent light, like a "black light". I'm not sure what a "woods light" is, but maybe it might do the trick. Have you tried it yet to see if your diamond glows underneath it?

You want to do it in a dark area for best results.
