Hello :wavey:,
I purchased this approx 1.5ct OEC set in a men’s ring and had planned to send it off to GIA for a report before everything closed down.
I was looking it over with my loupe and noticed a interesting inclusion under the table. I looked at pictures of inclusion types online and couldn’t find a match.
Can anyone help me with what type of inclusion it is?

In this picture the inclusion is at 3 o’clock , just to the right of the culet.

I circled the inclusion this close up:

another close up, inclusion is left of center:

These pictures were taken through my loupe with my iphone, so the quality isn’t great. Thanks in advance!

It looks like a needle - a rod like included diamond crystal.

[I can easily be wrong]

Thank you :))
I started looking closely at the stone and had worried for a moment that it could possibly be a laser drill mark, but the inclusion is in the center of the stone and I don’t see an entry point for that.

the clump looks like a crystal, the line looks like needle or a feather... or a smudge on the pavillion.

Thank you! I’m glad to hear it looks like a natural inclusion. I know you have a lot of experience with OEC’s.. Would you bother to send it to GIA for a report? I plan to keep it, so the only reason I would is for my peace of mind to make sure it is a natural diamond without any funny treatments. It was purchased from The RealReal, sold as a diamond. There is a facet chip and the girdle has a couple of flea bites, so it’s not perfect, but I like that about it. I’m just trying to figure out if I should send it to GIA after they re-open, or just go ahead and re-set it without a report.

1.5ct, definitely. I've been sending all of mine over 0.90ct to GIA. I've kept most of mine and don't start off intending to sell, but things happen, preferences change, and upgrades happen!

Thank you for the excellent advice! I do change my mind a lot about pieces and stones, so I should just be patient and wait to get the report, just in case :))
