I am having a solitaire diamond pendant (3 prong style) made for my daughter's graduation. What type of chain do you suggest for this? Diamond is 4mm, it's yellow gold setting.
Box?
Cable?
other?

I have a wheat chain on mine. For a thin chain it seems pretty substantial and strong.

I like these ball chains. I have a few of them and you can get them at varying widths.

For 4mm diamond delicate cable chain would be perfect.

I kind of like the ball chains too...gives it a younger look or maybe I should say a less traditional look.

Edit...wow, my picture turned out huge...its only a 1.06 but in that pic it looks like a 3 carat rock to me
(if only it were :P)

Cable is traditional and what I prefer for diamond pendants.

I think ball chains are more casual but can work if you like the look.

My preferred look is cable but I am currently wearing mine on a box since it seems stronger

Mine is on a rose gold cable. I do like the ball chain for younger person
