What to look for in a ruby band?

@YadaYadaYada and anyone else who might own or shopped for one, please chime in!
I did not purchase the band in the pictures mostly bc I have no idea what to look for. This pic is taken in the best lighting and yet, the stones look dark? What shade is ideal for a pink ruby?
I did see inclusions so would that mean the stones are natural?
And finally, do these look princess cut?
It was on sale for 400–wondering if that is the going rate?

I have two ruby bands, one is definitely lab, square cut and a deep red, the other I believe is natural, has round stones and it more pink than red, in the best lighting it does look more pink than the band in these pictures. At least from what I see here this band looks more purple red than pink red, but could just be my phone.

You might find that you need to go lighter because this band will probably look really dark in a lot of lighting situations.

@nala , sometimes you have to go with your heart. The reds are the most expensive, however I personally like the cool, light purple pink ones, which are cheaper. They just look better on my cool skin tone.

Rubies range from pinkish to dark dark red. Go with the shade you like or one that looks good on your skin tone. Unlike emeralds, I feel that rubies are mostly free of inclusions to the naked eye especially smaller ones in bands. Pigeon blood rubies are the more expensive ones but I’d only seen them a bit larger as in rings/pendants, etc.

What is a thread without pictures?? Adding my band for comparison. It was a lucky eBay find (absolutely filthy and caked with muck) that has become one of my favorite bands! No idea if it's natural or lab, but there is definitely a bit of pink in there, which I love.
