What to do with this pear?

I have this less than beautifully cut pear. It was my grandmother's, and she wore it in a ring and then, later, in a pendant. The setting wasn't perfect for the stone, and it was flimsy. I am trying to figure out something to do with it...a pendant, ideally. It's somewhere around 2ct. It is cut badly. It's asymmetrical at the bottom, the girdle is too thick and the whole thing is too shallow. I am wondering about having it recut into a better pear, or maybe a cushion and a smaller stone. Thoughts or suggestions?

Cut it up and make fruit salad :twirl:
(Sorry, first thing that came to mind reading title)
I would make a gorgeous bezel pendant and the bezel would define the shape!

Similarly, I have thought about a setting with a curved bottom panel (like a semi-bezel, I guess) that would round out the bottom. The table, though, is kind of shield-like and just not very pretty. I didn't capture that in the photo.

Could you set it with metal behind/underneath it so the metal (presumably white) reflected rather than having it window through to show skin? I second the pendant idea. With the right setting I think this could be made to work!

+1 for a bezel pendant!

Hmm, interesting idea! Any suggestions of a designer/company who could do it?

The idea that popped into my head has to do with the way yellow diamonds are sometimes cupped to enhance color. Maybe start with a colored diamond vendor like Diamonds by Lauren?
